The present invention relates to a radiation diversity antenna consisting of radiating elements of the slot-line type coupled electromagnetically to a feed line, in which the radiating elements have a tree structure, each radiating element having a length equal to kλs/2 where k is an identical or different integer from one element to the next and λs is the guided wavelength in the slot-line constituting the radiating element with at least one radiating element comprising a switching means positioned in the slot-line constituting the said radiating element in such a way as to control the coupling between the said radiating element and the feed line as a function of a command. The invention applies chiefly to wireless transmissions.

The present invention relates to an active photonic band gap antenna. In this case, the photonic band gap structure is constituted by metal rods, some of which are discontinuous, namely composed of sections of rods connected by a switching element such as a PIN diode. According to the invention, only one rod in a row of rods seen from the radiating source is discontinuous. The antenna pattern can be controlled at a low cost.

The invention concerns a device for receiving and/or transmitting signals comprising at least two wave reception and/or transmission means consisting of a slot antenna and means for connecting at least one of said reception and/or transmission means to means using multibeam signals. The connection means consist of a common feeder line, the line being electromagnetically coupled with the slots of the slot antenna and being terminated by an electronic component enabling through a control signal to simulate a short circuit or an open circuit at the end of said line so that, when the component is in on-state the radiation pattern derived from the device is different from the radiation pattern derived from the device when the component is in off-state. The invention is applicable to the field of wireless transmissions.
