摘要: A projectile includes a mechanism which allows the fin position to be reved after the projectile leaves the launch tube thus allowing the fins to have reversed leading edges, which avoids the costly weight of the one-piece design in the prior art, which is a parasitic weight that will result in a lower velocity, and consequently lower kinetic energy, from the same propellant charge. This mechanism also avoids having extra pieces falling from the muzzle and near the firing team or troops near the gun, and has the advantage of a simple, low-weight deployment mechanism which results in the least aerodynamic resistance after full deployment. The mechanism has at least one small winglet on each reversible fin which generates an aerodynamic lifting force to provide reversal of the fin after the projectile leaves the launch tube. These winglets are positioned and designed to cause the least increase in aerodynamic drag.

摘要: This invention enables the faster processing and sorting of mail pieces and packages while also detecting pieces with insufficient postage. A postal stamp is introduced which has provisions for entering, by the stamp user, both the destination and origination identifier codes which are detectable by a scanning device. In addition, distinct markings are printed for alerting a scanning device to the location and orientation of the entered identifier codes. Furthermore, special marking code printed thereon is provided to identify the monetary value of the stamp. Two other different stamp structures are also introduced to help facilitate the stated objectives. These two other structures involve stamps of two layers with peel-off pieces. A mail sorting process and apparatus is provided which utilizes the capabilities of the introduced stamp. Finally, a spostal metering device is improved and introduced as a compatible part of this invention.

摘要: The common cigarettes in cigarette packs and boxes are individually wrapped by a thin foil-type wrapping material and each is totally sealed from all four sides to preserve tobacco freshness and aroma and to prevent tobacco brittleness if the cigarettes are stored for extended period of time or if the cigarette package is opened but the contents are consumed long time after the opening. The cigarettes are packed in flexible strips having flexible foldings which allow compacting the cigarettes for packaging in the least volume and allow the separation of individual cigarettes without breaking the total seal of any adjacent cigarettes. With the cigarettes sealed inside the strip, the usual aluminum foil-type lining of the cigarette box is no longer needed. The cigarette strips are then packaged inside a soft package or flip-top box having perforated slots on one of its surfaces to allow the easy opening of the package for pulling of one end of the strip for separation of one or more cigarettes for consumption without destroying either the package or the seal of the remaining cigarettes.

摘要: The invention relates to the fields of postal stamps, automated postal sorter machines, sorting processes, and postal metering devices. The prior art of postal stamps and processing systems failed to provide for automatic sorting and processing without replacing the usual stamp with a machine printed decal thus: (1) depriving the ordinary stamp user from using the system which requires a special stamp printing machine, and (2) destroying the philatelic nature of the stamp for the hobby of stamp collecting. The invention solves these problems by providing a multi-part stamp where machine readable data are entered by the ordinary user without the need for a special machine. One portion of the stamp (42) includes the ordinary stamp attributes thereon and another portion (43) carries marking indicia (47) and (48) which are to be filled with the information of the points of origin and destination. The stamp portions may be separated along lines of perforation, resulting in one piece being the typical unaffected stamp collected by millions of stamp collectors. In addition, automatic postal sorting apparatus, sorting process, and a metering device which all use the new features of the invented stamp are introduced to facilitate the implementation of the automatic sorting of mail.
