Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for increasing paging opportunities when the unlicensed band is used. A user equipment (UE) may determine a plurality of different paging occasions (POs) to monitor per DRX cycle. The plurality of different POs corresponds to beam sweep repeats for a first set of UEs in an unlicensed band from a base station in a wireless network. The UE monitors the plurality of different POs to receive the paging message from the base station. The plurality of different POs may include respective physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) monitoring occasions. The plurality of different POs may include at least two consecutive POs associate with the first set of UEs within a same paging frame. Alternatively, the plurality of different POs may include at least two non-consecutive POs associated with the first set of UEs separated by at least cycle one other PO associated with a second set of UEs.

Abstract: Systems and methods of increasing paging opportunities when the unlicensed band is used are described. The gNB sends an RRC message that indicates multiple monitoring occasions in a paging occasion of a paging frame. The UE monitors a monitoring occasion of a PO to determine whether a PDCCH with a P-RNTI has been received in an unlicensed band. If such a PDCCH is received, the UE decodes PDSCH information in the PDCCH to determine whether the P-RNTI is a P-RNTI of the UE. If so, the UE avoids monitoring subsequent monitoring occasions of the PO. If the PDCCH does not contain a P-RNTI, the UE continues to monitor other monitoring occasions within the PO.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE), or other network component can operate to configure channel occupancy time (COT) sharing in random access procedures involving the unlicensed spectrum. At least some of the messages for the procedures can share a COT by configuring one or more gaps or listen-before-talk (LBT) procedures based on the gap or whether the COT sharing is UE or gNB initiated. Some configurations can depend on a location in the random access procedure that COT sharing is acquired.

Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, methods, and computer-readable media are provided for an access point (AP) for a wireless communication system operating in a licensed and an unlicensed spectrum. Abstract: A user equipment (UE) can include processing circuitry coupled to memory. To configure the UE for New Radio (NR) communications above a 52.6 GHz carrier frequency, the processing circuitry is to decode radio resource control (RRC) signaling to obtain a cyclic shift value in time domain. The cyclic shift value is associated with a demodulation reference signal (DM-RS) antenna port (AP) of a plurality of available DM-RS APs. A single carrier based waveform DM-RS sequence corresponding to the DM-RS AP is generated using a base sequence and the cyclic shift value. The single carrier based waveform DM-RS sequence is encoded with uplink data for transmission to a base station using a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) using a carrier above the 52.6 GHz carrier frequency.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) can include processing circuitry configured to decode physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) configuration information received from a Next Generation Node-B (gNB). The configuration information includes a cell-specific base sequence hopping pattern. A PUCCH base sequence is selected from a plurality of available PUCCH base sequences based on the cell-specific base sequence hopping pattern and UCI information. A cyclic shift is applied to the PUCCH base sequence to generate a cyclically shifted PUCCH sequence. The cyclically shifted PUCCH sequence is encoded for transmission to the gNB using a PUCCH physical resource. The cyclically shifted PUCCH sequence carries the UCI and is code division multiplexed (CDM) with at least another cyclically shifted PUCCH sequence within the PUCCH physical resource.

Abstract: Technology for a user equipment (UE) operable to encode a New Radio (NR) short duration physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) for transmission to a Next Generation NodeB (gNB) is disclosed. The UE can identify uplink control information (UCI) for the UE. The UE can multiplex, using frequency division multiplexing (FDM) at the UE, the UCI and a pseudo-random sequence associated with a demodulation reference signal (DMRS) onto a plurality of subcarriers in one or more physical resource blocks (PRBs) of one or more orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbols. The UE can encode the UCI and the pseudo-random sequence associated with the DMRS multiplexed onto the plurality of subcarriers of the one or more OFDM symbols for transmission on the NR short duration PUCCH to the gNB.
