Abstract: A multi-function printer includes a printer body and a scanner body. A printer module is disposed in the printer body. At least one first scanning module, at least one feeding roller and a sensor are disposed in the scanner body. The feeding roller and the sensor are disposed at an inlet of a sheet passage. When the sensor senses presence of a sheet medium, the first scanning module immediately performs image scanning on the sheet medium to obtain image data, and then the printer module prints out the image data.

Abstract: A toner level detector, includes: a toner cartridge storing toner and having one side provided with a light-permeable region; an agitator, which is rotatably disposed in the toner cartridge and agitates the toner; a reflective region disposed on an inner surface on the other side of the toner cartridge; a first cleaner disposed on one side of the agitator; a second cleaner disposed on the other side of the agitator; and a transceiver, which is disposed on a body outside the toner cartridge, and outputs an emitting signal to the reflective region through the light-permeable region, wherein the reflective region reflects the emitting signal to generate a reflective signal received by the transceiver through the reflective region, wherein the first cleaner, which is rotating, intermittently cleans the light-permeable region, which is fixed; and the second cleaner, which is rotating, intermittently cleans the reflective region, which is fixed.

Abstract: In a multi-purpose peripheral, a first cover pivotally disposed on a body has a lower surface and a platen portion opposite the lower surface; a second cover pivotally disposed on the body is separated from the first cover by a gap; a first scan assembly movably disposed in the body acquires an image of a first document covered, by the lower surface of the first cover, onto a transparent platen of the body; a transporting mechanism disposed in the body and the second cover transports a second document on the first cover; and a second scan assembly disposed in the second cover acquires an image of the second document transported by the transporting mechanism past the second scan assembly. Upper surfaces of the second cover and the first cover are disposed on the same horizontal surface.

Abstract: A sheet separation mechanism comprises a separation roller set and a reverse roller set rotating in the same rotation direction. The reverse roller set presses sheets onto the separation roller set to stop one or multiple ones of the sheets close to the reverse roller set from passing through a nip between the separation and reverse roller sets, and allow the sheet directly contacting the separation roller set to pass through the nip. The reverse roller set comprises a shaft, and two reverse rollers and an annular member all mounted on the shaft, which rotates the reverse rollers. The annular member, disposed between the two reverse rollers, is rotatable relatively to the shaft and movable relatively to the shaft in a radial direction of the shaft. The annular member and the reverse rollers commonly press the sheets. A sheet-fed scanning apparatus using the sheet separation mechanism is also provided.
