    摘要: Double layer, or bi-layer, magnetic films are deposited over a substrate with an underlayer. The bi-layer film is a film of two different magnetic layers which have different chemical composition, deposited with no spacer layer between the two layers. The lower magnetic layer should be of a low noise magnetic material, while the upper magnetic layer should be a high coercivity magnetic material. The bi-layer film exhibits a single response to magnetic recording and a joint coercivity different from the coercivity of either layer by itself. A preferred double layer media uses a CoCrTa layer deposited under a CoCrTaPt layer, with the CoCrTa layer comprising 30 to 70% of the total film thickness. The double layer film produces magnetic media with higher coercivity and lower media noise as compared to single layered films of either of the materials of the magnetic layers.

    摘要: An illumination system operable for use as a string of Christmas lights may include a plurality of lamps connected in series. Each lamp may include a lamp luminary, a lamp stem, a lamp holder, and a pair of cables connected to the lamp holder. The lamp stem may have an insertion portion. The lamp holder may have an accommodation space formed therein. When the lamp stem is disposed in the accommodation space, the insertion portion may be clamped between a pair of first protrusions to separate the protrusions. When the lamp stem is removed from the accommodation space, the pair of first protrusions may resume contact through the elastic nature of the cable and the protrusions. The illumination system may be simple in structure and may be convenient for use.

    摘要: The disclosure relates to detecting seismic movements and providing at least one alarm notification based on the detected seismic movement. Particularly, a sensor device, which may be positioned in a subterranean part of a structure, may detect a seismic movement. The sensor device may make a determination as to whether the received seismic movement is greater than a predetermined threshold. If the seismic movement is greater than a predetermined threshold, the sensor device may transmit an alarm notification to one or more alarm devices, which may be located within the structure, indicating the seismic movement. The alarm device(s) may provide an alarm, notifying people in the structure of the seismic movement. This may provide an opportunity for the people to leave the structure before the seismic movement reaches the structure.

In certain embodiments, the expression level of VNN1 in blood cells from a subject (or patient) is assessed and used to determine the subject's oxidative stress state, where an increased/high expression level of VNN1 indicates that the subject is in a state of oxidative stress. Expression of VNN1, and optionally other genes, may be done by assessing nucleic acid and/or protein levels in the blood cells obtained from the subject.
