Abstract: An implantable fluid operated device may include a fluid reservoir configured to hold fluid, an inflatable member, and a pump assembly configured to transfer fluid between the fluid reservoir and the inflatable member. The pump assembly may include one or more fluid pumps and one or more valves. One or more sensing devices may be positioned within fluid passageways of the fluid operated device. The electronic control system may control operation of the pump assembly based on fluid pressure measurements and/or fluid flow measurements received from the one or more sensing devices. The pump assembly may include a piezoelectric pump. The one or more sensing devices may include one or more pressure transducers positioned in the fluid passageways, one or more strain gauges measuring deflection of piezoelectric elements, voltage input/output at one or more piezoelectric elements, and other types of sensing devices.

Abstract: According to an aspect, an implantable device includes a fluid reservoir configured to be implanted in a body of a patient at a first location, an inflatable member configured to be implanted in the body of the patient at a second location, and a pump assembly configured to be implanted in the body of the patient at a third location. The pump assembly is configured to transfer fluid from the fluid reservoir to the inflatable member in response to the implantable device being in an inflation mode, and the pump assembly configured to transfer the fluid from the inflatable member to the fluid reservoir in response to the implantable device being in a deflation mode. The pump assembly includes an electronic control module, an electronically powered pump, a first valve, and a second valve. The electronic control module is configured to activate or deactivate the electronically powered pump.

Abstract: According to an aspect, an inflatable penile prosthesis includes a fluid reservoir configured to hold fluid, an inflatable member, and a pump assembly configured to transfer the fluid between the fluid reservoir and the inflatable member. The pump assembly includes a valve body, a pump bulb, and a deflation mode actuator. The valve body includes a bi-directional valve configured to move from an inflation position to a deflation position in response to an activation of the deflation mode actuator. The bi-directional valve in the inflation position is configured to open a fluid passageway in the valve body to transfer fluid from the pump bulb to the inflatable member. The bi-directional valve in the deflation position is configured to open a fluid passageway in the valve body to transfer fluid from the inflatable member to the fluid reservoir that bypasses the pump bulb.

Abstract: An implantable device for penile construction can comprise an anchor plate and at least one attachment member. The anchor plate can be configured to engage with a first portion of a pelvic bone of a patient. The anchor plate can comprise a prosthesis attachment interface configured to be coupled to a penile prosthesis, and at least one attachment member configured to attach to the anchor plate. The at least one attachment member can be configured to engage with a second portion of the pelvic bone of the patient. The engagement of the anchor plate with the first portion of the pelvic bone and the engagement of the attachment member with the second portion of the pelvic bone can couple the pelvic bone between the anchor plate and the at least one attachment member.
