摘要: One exemplary embodiment can include a hydrocarbon conversion process. Generally, the process includes passing a hydrocarbon stream through a hydrocarbon conversion zone comprising a series of reaction zones. Typically, the hydrocarbon conversion zone includes a staggered-bypass reaction system having a first, second, third, and fourth reaction zones, which are staggered-bypass reaction zones, and a fifth reaction zone, which can be a non-staggered-bypass reaction zone, subsequent to the staggered-bypass reaction system.

摘要: A multistage catalytic hydrocarbon conversion system is disclosed in which hydrocarbons flow serially through at least two reaction zones and through which catalyst particles move. Where three reaction zones are used, the effluent stream from the first reaction zone is split between the second and third reaction zones. One portion of the effluent stream is combined with hydrocarbons that bypassed the first reaction zone, and the combined stream is passed to the second reaction zone. The other portion of the first reaction zone effluent stream and at least a portion of the effluent stream of the second reaction zone are passed to the third reaction zone. This invention is applicable to processes where the first and second reaction zones are susceptible to pinning in that this invention decreases the mass flow through the first and second reaction zones while nevertheless maintaining high hydrocarbon conversion.

摘要: An improved method for processing the effluent of a hydrocarbon conversion zone. The invention is particularly useful in a catalytic reforming reaction, wherein practice of the invention results in an increased recovery of butane and propane. The effluent is separated into vapor and liquid components, which are then recontacted at a higher pressure. Several recontacting steps may be employed. Liquid product is then subjected to fractionation. Overhead vapor from the fractionation zone is recycled back to a recontacting step in order to recover a portion of the hydrocarbons contained therein, instead of routing the vapor to the plant fuel gas system.

摘要: A multiple stage hydrocarbon conversion system wherein a hydrogen-hydrocarbonaceous feedstock reaction mixture is processed serially through a plurality of reaction zones, each of which contains a particulate catalyst disposed as an annular-form bed movable downwardly through the reaction zone, and wherein said reaction mixture is processed in radial flow through said annular-form bed. Pinning of the catalyst particles within the annular-form bed is substantially alleviated by the device of charging only a portion of the total hydrogen to the first reaction zone, and charging the balance of the total hydrogen to a subsequent reaction zone.

摘要: A multiple-stage catalytic conversion system in which a hydrocarbonaceous charge stock and hydrogen flow serially through a plurality of catalytic reaction zones in each of which the catalyst particles are movable via gravity-flow. The flow of the product effluent from at least one reaction zone is restricted. This technique increases the pressure drop within the entire reactor circuit, and serves to alleviate the problems associated with the occurrence of stagnant catalyst areas as a result of catalyst particles being "pinned" within the reaction zone and thus unable to assume a downward gravity-flow pattern. Flow restriction may be effected either before, or after the inter-reaction zone heaters, preferably the former.

摘要: Disclosed are heaters having at least one adjustable fired burner and an adjustable fired burner for use with various types of heaters. The heaters may be part of an industrial processes such as petroleum refining. The adjustable burners are configured to be adjusted and positioned in any direction and then be locked into place. The adjustable burners may be adjusted automatically or manually. The ability to quickly adjust the position of an adjustable burner results in substantially less or virtually no damage to elements in the heater and provides for a more even distribution of heat within the heater.

摘要: A disc record caddy comprises a pair of substantially flat circular covers releasably held in channels defined along the inside rim of an expandable circular ring. Spring elements bias the ring into a contracted shape to radially restrain a disc retained between the pair of covers. A platform, mounted on a base of a disc record player system, horizontally supports the caddy in an elevated position over a turntable of the system and includes means for expanding the ring to release the covers. A turntable spindle incorporates a lowering/lifting mechanism which lowers the cover nearest the turntable and the disc supported thereon onto the turntable for record playback purposes, the other cover being retained at the platform level by the radially inward extension of the land defined between the ring channels. At the termination of record playback, the disc and the supporting cover are lifted up to platform level and the ring is allowed to return to the contracted shape thereby enclosing the disc between the two covers. The expanding means and the lowering/lifting mechanism are actuated in response to the movement of a player lid.
