    Abstract: A fiber optic cable spool is disclosed herein. The fiber optic cable spool may include a first radial flange located at a first axial end of the fiber optic cable spool, a second radial flange located at a second axial end of the fiber optic cable spool, and a drum that extends axially between the first and second radial flanges. The fiber optic cable spool may also include a storage compartment located within the drum. The first radial flange may define a first opening for accessing the storage compartment within the drum. The drum may have a circumferential drum surface that defines a second opening for accessing the storage compartment within the drum.

    Abstract: An indexing terminal arrangement includes a terminal housing that receives an input cable; an optical power splitter disposed within the interior of the terminal housing; a first multi-fiber optical adapter coupled to the terminal housing; a first single-fiber optical adapter coupled to the terminal housing; and a pass-through multi-fiber optical adapter coupled to the terminal housing. Split optical signals are provided to the first multi-fiber optical adapter and the first single-fiber optical adapter. Unsplit and indexed optical signals are provided to the pass-through optical adapter.

    Abstract: Aspects and techniques of the present disclosure relate to a diagnostic method for testing continuity along an optical fiber. The method can include a step of mounting a dust cap to an optical port where the dust cap includes a self-powered light for testing an optical fiber line. The method further includes a step of activating the self-powered light of the dust cap to shine a light along the optical fiber line and determining whether the light is visible downstream of the optical fiber line. The present disclosure also relates to a dust cap for an optical fiber connector in an optical system. The dust cap can be adapted to cover an end of the optical fiber connector. The dust cap includes a self-generating light source for testing connections in the optical system.

    Abstract: A slack storage bracket is configured to mount at an installation site. The slack storage bracket includes a slack storage structure configured to receive excess length of a cable. The slack storage bracket also includes a terminal mounting structure forward of the slack storage structure. A terminal can be mounted to the terminal mounting structure of the slack storage bracket, directly, with a terminal mounting bracket, and/or with a terminal adapter. The slack length can be managed within a slack management spool, which can be mounted at the slack storage structure.
