    摘要: An optical cable misplug error detection and remediation process is provided which includes detecting, by at least one processor, an optical cable misplug error in a connection path between optical transceivers of a computing network, where the connection path includes one or more optical cables. The detecting includes evaluating operation of an optical transceiver of the connection path. The evaluating includes determining whether a receive lane of the optical transceiver is receiving a signal during evaluating operation of the optical transceiver, and detecting the optical cable misplug error where the receive lane of the optical transceiver is not receiving the signal. The process further includes identifying, by the at least one processor based on detecting the optical cable misplug error, a location of a misplugged optical cable in the connection path between the optical transceiver of the computing network.

The sleeve portion may comprise a first opening arranged to be proximal to one or more optical components in an inspection device and a second opening arranged to be distal to the one or more optical components when the alignment guide is removably engaged with the inspection device. The mechanical key structure may be located adjacent to the second opening and have a shape to engage a geometry of one or more recesses in a bulkhead. Accordingly, the alignment guide may stabilize the inspection device at a particular angle relative to an end face of an object in a field of view of the one or more optical components when a shaft of the inspection device is inserted into the bulkhead.

    摘要: A digital fiber optic connector imaging system that can automatically capture two or more images of the endface of a multifiber connector, wherein the captured images as a group have sufficient resolution and a sufficient FOV to be used to perform a manual or automatic pass-fail analysis of the endface of every fiber terminated by the connector under inspection.     摘要: The loopback apparatus disclosed herein is used with an optical fiber system having an optical fiber cable. The loopback apparatus includes an optical fiber having input and output ends and an output optical fiber having input and output ends. The loopback apparatus also includes an optical system that defines an optical path and that is configured to optically couple the output end of the input optical fiber with the input end of the output optical fiber over the optical path. The loopback apparatus also includes a thin-film filter disposed in the optical path and configured to provide a select amount of attenuation for light traveling over the optical path. The loopback apparatus can be plugged into and unplugged from the optical fiber cable. Loopback methods for measuring the performance of the optical fiber system using the loopback apparatus are also disclosed.

    摘要: One or more embodiments are directed to optical test instruments, such as fiber optic inspection scopes and optical power meters, for testing optical communication links, such as fiber optic connectors. The optical test instruments include a single test port that is able to operate in two modes of operation. In a first mode of operation, the optical test instrument is configured to provide an image of the endface of a fiber optic connector under test. In a second mode of operation, the optical test instrument is configured to measure power or power loss in an optical fiber under test. In that regard, the fiber optic connector only has to be coupled to a single port of an optical test instrument for a visual inspection of an endface of a fiber optic connector and a power test of the optical fiber under test.
