摘要:
A platform to facilitate transferring spectrum use rights is provided that includes a database to ascertain information regarding available spectrum for use in wireless communications. A request for spectrum use from an entity needing spectrum may be matched with available spectrum. The Cloud Spectrum Services (CSS) process allows entities to access spectrum they would otherwise not have; it allows the end user to complete their download during congested periods while maintaining high service quality; and it allows the holder of rental spectrum to receive compensation for an otherwise idle asset.
摘要:
A communication apparatus associated with a system that uses two or more wireless standard in IMT and non-IMT bands. The invention is a wireless device with the ability to operate, transmit and/or receive, in one or more IMT bands and one or more non-IMT bands that are licensed to services and/or applications other than IMT. This is accomplished through inclusion in the wireless device of one or more radios operating in licensed IMT bands, an “IMT radio”, and one or more radios operating in licensed non-IMT bands, a “non-IMT radio”. A non-IMT radio could be a stand-alone, separate radio inside the wireless device or an extension or modification of the IMT radio in a way that it covers non-IMT bands.

A cloud spectrum manager (CSM) for managing the sharing of spectrum among multiple operators in a distributed computing environment. The cloud spectrum manager comprises an allocation service component which applies a resource allocation policy to determine whether the requested spectrum from an operator may be allocated. The allocation of spectrum allows the operator to get spectrum from the CSM at wholesale prices and then the operator manages the rented spectrum with its associated client devices. The operator manages the rented spectrum, perform their own analytics & optimization and offer spectrum services to the clients. The demands on the CSM are alleviated since it can manage spectrum at whole sale quantities and leave the finer grain device to device management to the operator.

A method for achieving high bit densities in a direct-sequence spread spectrum communication system by using encoded spreading codes. An encoded pseudo-noise code is first created. This encoded pseudo-noise code is then used to spread an information signal by modulating the information signal with the encoded pseudo-noise code. The same encoded pseudo-noise code is also used to demodulate the signal. The encoded pseudo-noise code is created by inverting one bit of a pseudo-noise code where the inverted bit corresponds to the value of the information signal.

A method for achieving high bit densities in a direct-sequence CDMA spread spectrum communication system. A table of orthogonal pseudo-noise codes is stored. This table is then partitioned into multiple codebook. Then, the codebook is assigned to a user. The pseudo-noise code contained within the codebooks are used to spread information signal. Information signal for a first user is spread by a pseudo-noise code contained within the codebook assigned to the first user. Multiple bits of information signal may be sent at a time by using the location of the pseudo-noise code within the codebook such that the value of the information signal corresponds the location of the pseudo-noise code within the codebook. The information signal is then despread by using the same pseudo-noise code.

One embodiment of the present invention is a method for providing security for a transmission of information in an ADSL environment using a DMT modulation technique. The order of the frequency orthogonal subchannels used in the DMT technique is scrambled according to a permutation cipher. The key for this scrambling operation is scrambled with the subscriber's public key, and is encoded according to a CDMA technique for transmission through the ADSL channel approximately concurrently with the information. The encoded key and the DMT data subblocks are recovered from the secured transmission. The encoded key is decoded according to the CDMA technique to generate the decoded key. The decoded key is used to assign an order to the subblocks of data.

A method for achieving high bit densities in a direct-sequence spread spectrum communication system. The first step is to create a first pseudo-noise code with a given sequency value. The information signal is then spread by modulating the information signal with the pseudo-noise code where the pseudo-noise code used has a sequency value equal to that of the value of the signal. The information signal is then despread and the value of the information signal is determined by the sequency value of the pseudo-noise code used to demodulate the signal.

A friction pad assembly and backing plate therefor features a pair of opposing upper and lower abutments, with the engagement surface of the lower abutments being recessed by a predetermined magnitude relative to the engagement surfaces of the upper abutments. The lower abutments are recessed relative to the upper abutments, such that lower abutments will not contact the bracket which supports the friction pad assembly under resting and light braking conditions. However, the lower abutments at the pressured end of the friction pad assembly will come into contact with the caliper bracket during heavy braking conditions in order to reduce the load on the upper abutment. While the force applied by the pad to the bracket support structure under these conditions may cause the un-pressured end of the friction pad assembly to lift slightly, the clearance thereby produced will be too small to cause perceptible clacking noise upon brake release.
