摘要： A handleless slingshot with a folding storage compartment is disclosed. The slingshot does not require that the user grip a handle to shoot it and the folding storage compartment may be removed or omitted if desired. The slingshot includes a storage compartment that can store projectiles (such as steel shot) and/or other supplies. The storage compartment is foldable such that it can be folded into the base of the slingshot to create a compact, portable unit. The slingshot includes a quick-release interchangeable band system that uses clips that matingly engage grooves formed at the ends of the slingshot arms to secure the band. The slingshot includes guard area which protects the web area of the hand when shooting the slingshot. The slingshot moves the thumb and index finger contact points forward of the band to increase stability and eliminate the need to grip a handle when shooting the slingshot.

摘要： A bowstring sound dampener is disclosed. The dampener comprises a sleeve and a piston. The sleeve is generally cylindrical with a frustoconical first end adapted to threadedly receive a mounting rod for connecting the dampener to a bow. The sleeve comprises a second end which is flared outwardly with a pair of generally V-shaped grooves formed diametrically therein creating a pair of diametrically opposed arms. The sleeve is configured to matingly receive the piston therein. The piston is formed as a generally cylindrical member having a pair of grippers extending therefrom on one end with a groove formed therebetween. The grippers flare outwardly from the piston in a diametrically opposed configuration and are mounted to the piston such that the grippers move inwardly when the piston enters the sleeve, thereby grasping the bowstring, and outwardly when the piston exits the sleeve, thereby releasing the bowstring.

摘要： An aiming system is disclosed. The aiming system may be used with various slingshot and projectile-launching devices, but is particularly useful for use with “shoot-over” slingshots. The aiming system comprises a clip or other device with an integrated aiming or sighting system. In the preferred embodiment, the integrated aiming system comprises a plurality of fiber optic strands disposed within the clip and terminating at the rearward face of the clip. In this matter, the tips of the fiber optic strands provide a series of illuminated points allowing the user of a device to look forward while shooting and to align the points with the target. The points may be color coded to aid in the aiming process.

摘要： An arrow brake for attachment to the shaft of the archery arrow. The brake impedes and effectively prevents the released arrow from passing entirely through the body of a target impinged by the arrow. The brake includes a relatively thin and flexible ring for sleeved frictional engagement on the arrow shaft. Attached to and extending radially of and forwardly of the ring are annularly spaced wedge-shaped probes. Engagement of the probes within the body of the target causes the probes to pivot arcuately, upwardly and rearwardly, to define a segmented wall generally normal to the arrow shaft to impede travel of the arrow shaft through the target body. Stops integrally formed with the probes pivot with the latter and come to abut the surface of the arrow shaft rearwardly of the ring thus limiting further arcuate displacement of the probe elements. In a preferred embodiment of the invention the arrow-shaft-engaging inner annular surface of the ring is cylindrical. Distortion of the ring in response to bending forces applied thereto as the probes are arcuately pivoted causes the ring to twist and distort with the effect of reducing the effective inner diameter of the ring. Gripping of the ring on the arrow shaft is thereby significantly enhanced, and rearward sliding of the ring on the arrow shaft is deterred.

摘要： An arrow point for hunting practice and for archery target use. The point has a smooth, uniquely-contoured, enveloping wall and includes a probe-like head, a body section, and an intermediate coupler section. The head is formed with a relatively large, forwardly-projecting, tapering tip blending with and extending forwardly from a generally cylindrical, rearwardly-displaced end sector. The body section is also generally cylindrical but has a diameter exceeding that of the head. The intermediate coupler section, which is coaxial with the head and the body section, defines longitudinally-spaced, double-inflection zones including a first zone as a junction blended with the head, and a second zone at a junction blending at the body section. The structure described has a peripheral configuration facilitating penetrating entry of the arrow point into a mat-like target. The entry is effected with minimum disruption of and with minimal friction damage to a target mat during high-speed, forced impingement of the arrow point thereagainst, and upon penetration therewithin during target use. The unique configuration and peripheral contour of the arrow point allow the mat to open with minimum destructive effects and allow arrows to enter smoothly and thus prevent the usual mat deterioration caused by the fast arrows.
