Abstract: Systems and methods for natural language processing (NLP) and mapping of redundant array of independent disks (RAID) command line interface (CLI) requests to virtual storage area network (VSAN) commands by an out-of-band management platform are described. In some embodiments, an Information Handling System (IHS) may include: a processor, a baseband management controller (BMC) coupled to the processor, and a memory coupled to the BMC, the memory having program instructions stored thereon that, upon execution by the BMC, cause the IHS to: receive a RAID-CLI request, map the RAID-CLI request into a vSAN command using NLP, and transmit the vSAN command to the processor.

Abstract: In vSAN (virtual Storage Area Network) systems, pooled storage resources may be organized into logical disk groups. One drive of a disk group may be designated for caching storage operations directed at the remaining drives of the disk group that provide permanent storage. Each cache drive is partitioned into an allocation for read operations and an allocation for write operations. Embodiments provide the vSAN system with use of virtual cache that is backed by the cache drives of each disk group in the vSAN system. Embodiments adjust the cache memory allocations for individual cache drives of each disk group, while utilizing the virtual cache that adheres to a fixed cache allocation ratio required by the vSAN system. The number and type of cache misses by each of the individual cache drives is monitored and used to adjust the sizes of the read and write cache allocations in each cache drive.

Abstract: A method, an information handling system (IHS), and a host group generating system for collecting information about host groups in a cluster of IHSs using a management controller. The method includes retrieving, from a controller memory, first target physical hosts that are part of a virtual machine manager (VMM) host group, but not on a VMM host list and retrieving second target physical hosts that are part of the VMM host list, but not part of the VMM host group. The method further includes transmitting, to each of the first target physical hosts, a request to detach from the VMM host group. The method further includes transmitting, to each of the second target physical hosts, a request to attach to the VMM host group.

Abstract: A linguistic semantic alert correlation analysis system includes a storage system storing alert dictionary databases that include domain-specific language information that identifies domain-specific language terms utilized in providing alerts within different domains. A linguistic semantic alert correlation analysis engine is coupled to the at least one storage device, and receives alert catalogs that are each utilized one of the different domains. The domain specific language terms are used to classify alerts in each of the alert catalogs and, based on the classification, determine that a first alert in a first alert catalog and a second alert in a second alert catalog are each associated with a common subsystem. Based on the first alert and the second alert being associated with the common subsystem, the first alert and the second alert are correlated such that each is associated with the common subsystem.

Abstract: Installation errors for removable hardware components are typically identified only after placing an IHS (Information Handling System) back into service. Upon servicing a removeable hardware component and powering the IHS, a hardware validation request may be issued during booting of the IHS. In certain instances, a technician may trigger a hardware validation request via keyboard inputs during booting. If a hardware validation request is detected, the IHS is diverted from booting to a hardware validation process that identifies the removeable hardware components coupled to the hardware connectors supporting removeable hardware and determines a support level for the removeable hardware components at their installed connector locations. If performance issues are indicated by the support level for the hardware component, a hardware installation recommendation is displayed. The technician may resume booting or perform additional service on the IHS based on the recommendation.

Abstract: An information handling system may perform a quick boot based on a determination that a boot does not require an update to at least one of a firmware and hardware of an information handling system. The information handling system may reboot and may determine whether a boot of the system requires an update to at least one of a firmware and hardware of the information handling system. If the boot does not require an update to the at least one of a firmware and hardware of the information handling system, the information handling system may boot by bypassing one or more basic input/output system (BIOS) power-on self-test (POST) operations.

Abstract: An information handling system (IHS) troubleshooting system includes a customer IHS including a plurality of components. A customer management system in the customer IHS detects a failure in a managed system and, in response, immediately triggers a device snapshot of the customer IHS. At least one managed system in the customer IHS includes a device snapshot engine that, in response to the customer management system triggering the device snapshot of the customer IHS, immediately create the device snapshot of the customer IHS. A device snapshot storage in the customer IHS stores the device snapshot of the customer IHS. A snapshot communication engine in the customer IHS sends the device snapshot of the customer IHS over the network to a support IHS. The support IHS may load the device snapshot into a virtual IHS and manage the virtual IHS to replicate the failure detected in the managed system for troubleshooting.

Abstract: An apparatus comprises a processing device configured to detect a user login to access a console of a computing device implementing a multi-level console interface comprising two or more levels each associated with a set of criteria, goals to be achieved, and actions relevant for achieving the goals.
