Abstract:
A dynamic packet relay method of a personal area network (PAN) coordinator in a sensor network includes receiving a Child_Register message that includes information about a device associated with a coordinator and building or updating a network hierarchical structure; monitoring reception of a packet or a beacon from the coordinator and determining whether the coordinator is defective or not; and in response to a determination that the coordinator is defective, changing the current coordinator to one of devices belonging to a PAN as a new coordinator.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for an adaptive Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) streaming service using metadata of media content are provided. The media content may include a sequence of one or more periods. The metadata may include a start time attribute and/or a duration attribute of each of the periods. The metadata may determine a start time of each of the periods, and a start time of each of segments included in each of the periods. A terminal may access segments included in each of the periods, may decode and render data of media content included in the segments, and may play back the media content.

Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to an advertisement effect analysis apparatus and an advertisement effect analysis method. Specifically, the advertisement effect analysis method collects an advertisement viewing history of a user, determines a display state of an advertisement displayed to a user and a user response, and analyzes an effect of the advertisement displayed to the user based on a determination result.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for an adaptive Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) streaming service using metadata of content are provided. The metadata may include a minBufferTime attribute indicating a minimum amount of initially buffered media content. A terminal may receive content from a server before playback of the content, and may buffer the content by at least the minimum amount. The metadata may include a range attribute that designates a range of a target indicated by a Uniform Resource Locator (URL). The terminal may receive bytes designated by the range attribute from the URL, and may play back the content using the received bytes.
Abstract:
A method of acquiring an Internet protocol (IP) address to control a standby mode of a set-top box, and the set-top box and a power management server performing the method are disclosed. The method may include determining whether a state of the set-top box changes from a broadcasting state in which a broadcasting service is provided to a passive standby state in which a network connection between the set-top box and a headend providing the broadcasting service is blocked, receiving state information associated with an IP address allocated to the set-top box for the network connection in response to the state of the set-top box changing to the passive standby state, and transmitting, to the set-top box, a state change command to maintain the network connection for the IP address allocated to the set-top box based on the received state information.
Abstract:
A method of retransmitting a packet for low-power wireless sensor communications of a coordinator in a sensor network is provided. The method includes receiving packets from a plurality of sensor devices during a plurality of guaranteed time slots (GTSs) of a Contention Free Period (CFP) which are allocated to the respective sensor devices; checking whether there is an error in each of the received packets; generating one GTS Bulk ACK frame that contains pieces of ACK information to be transmitted to the respective sensor devices, according to the error check results; and transmitting the generated GTS Bulk ACK frame to the plurality of sensor devices.
Abstract:
A multi-camera control apparatus and method to maintain a location and a size of an object in a continuous viewpoint switching service are provided. The multi-camera control method of controlling a main camera configured to capture a moving object of interest and controlling at least one sub-camera configured to capture the object of interest at a different viewpoint from that of the main camera, may include extracting the object of interest from a first image generated by the main camera, controlling a capturing scheme of the main camera based on a change in a location and a size of the extracted object of interest, projecting the object of interest onto a second image generated by the sub-camera, and controlling a capturing scheme of the sub-camera based on a change in a location and a size of the projected object of interest.
Abstract:
A base station broadcasts information of an entire discontinuous signal transmission duration and information of a discontinuous signal transmission interval to a plurality of terminals, and stops transmission of a downlink control signal and data for at least some interval of the discontinuous signal transmission interval.
Abstract:
Provided is a node control apparatus communicating an external Internet Protocol (IP) network and managing a plurality of mobile nodes included in a local network. The node control apparatus manages information relating to the plurality of mobile nodes, each equipped with one or more wireless interfaces, configures one or more groups by classifying the plurality of mobile nodes according to the type(s) of the wireless interface(s) of each of the plurality of mobile nodes, selects a representative node for each of the groups, and allows the member nodes of each of the groups to communicate with the external IP network via their representative node. Therefore, it is possible to minimize power consumption by selectively using a wireless interface for use in connecting to the representative node of each of the groups.
