Abstract:
An on-line control and reaction process for pH adjustment and a control device for automatically adjusting pH value are provided. The process includes mixing a first enhancer and a second enhancer, optionally after diluting the first enhancer and/or the second enhancer with water, to form a mixture, setting a base pH value (δ1) and a target pH value (δ2), and adding pH adjuster into the mixture via a pH control unit and mixing to obtain a product with the target pH value. The pH control unit adjusts the adding of the pH adjuster by measuring or inputting certain parameters.
Abstract:
A paper-making aid composition comprising dialdehyde-modified polyacrylamide-type strengthening agent, polyacrylamide-type strengthening agent and water and having a pH value of 6 or more is provided. A method of paper-making by using the paper-making aid composition is also provided.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a method for preserving recycled fiber by using biocides and a method for manufacturing paper using recycled fiber. The method for manufacturing paper, using recycled fiber as a raw material, comprises pulping procedure: pulping the raw material containing recycled fiber, and papermaking procedure: producing the paper with the pulp slurry obtained in the pulping procedure; wherein the total starch content of recycled fiber is measured before recycled fiber is pulped, and when the total starch content of recycled fiber is higher than a predetermined value, one or more biocides are added during the pulping procedure.
Abstract:
Methods of improving dewatering efficiency, increasing sheet wet web strength, increasing sheet wet strength, and enhancing filler retention in a papermaking process are disclosed. The methods improve the efficiency of drainage aids, wet web strength aids, and/or wet strength aids by coating at least some of the filler particles with a material that prevents the filler materials form adhering to a those additives.
Abstract:
The invention provides a process for paper-making comprising adding to pulp slurry at least a first aqueous liquid and a second aqueous liquid so as to obtain a paper stock; forming the paper stock so as to obtain a wet paper web; pressing and draining the wet paper web so as to obtain a wet paper sheet; and drying the wet paper sheet so as to obtain a paper sheet. Correspondingly, the invention provides an aid composition for paper-making.
Abstract:
A process for flocculating filler particles in water is provided. The process comprises adding a flocculant to a mixture comprising filler particles and water, wherein the flocculant has a reduced specific viscosity (“RSV”) of from about 5 dL/g to about 16 dL/g, a viscosity average molecular weight of from about 1,200,000 to about 7,500,000, and a cationic charge of from about 5 mol % to about 50 mol %. Flocs formed by flocculation of the filler particles and the flocculant have a median particle size of from about 10 um to about 150 um. The filler is not precipitated calcium carbonate alone. The flocs provided by the process are useful in increasing ash content of a paper product.
