The present invention provides a solution for facilitating text editing in a device. According to the solution of the present invention, the language unit that has been already deleted is prompted to the user for his/her selection. According to the present invention, if the user makes a mistake, he has a chance to recover language units which have been deleted, but no need to repeat the inputting.

This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus related to surface doping of nanostructures. In one aspect a plurality of nanostructures is fabricated with a solution-based process using a solvent. The plurality of nanostructures comprises a semiconductor. Each of the plurality of nanostructures has a surface with capping species attached to the surface. The plurality of nanostructures is mixed in the solvent with a dopant compound that includes doping species. During the mixing the capping species on the surfaces of the plurality of nanostructures are replaced by the doping species. Charge carriers are transferred between the doping species and the plurality of nanostructures.

The invention is directed to novel pyrrolopyrimidine compounds of formula (1) wherein R1, R2y, R4, R8-R11, A and L are defined herein and to salts, including pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof. The compounds of the present invention are CDK4/6 inhibitors and could be useful in the treatment of diseases and disorders mediated by CDK4/6, such as cancer, including mantle cell lymphoma, liposarcoma, non small cell lung cancer, melanoma, squamous cell esophageal cancer and breast cancer. The invention is further directed to pharmaceutical compositions comprising a compound of the invention. The invention is still further directed to methods of inhibiting CDK4/6 activity and to the treatment of disorders associated therewith using a compound of the invention or a pharmaceutical composition comprising a compound of the invention.
Abstract:
The present invention is a method of shoot apical meristem transformation for monocot plant via sufficient and micro wounding (SMW). The technical process includes: expose the apical meristem by removing the coleoptile away when the shoot grows to 0.2-2 cm after 1-2 days of seed germination; make sufficient and micro wounding transformation to the apical meristem by stabbing and brushing for 2-3 times using the SMW brush having 100-5000 bristles which is 4-20 μm in diameter for each one and 0.5-3 mm in exposed length, and dipped with the Agrobacterium tumefaciens containing binary vector harboring exogenous genes; develop the treated meristems directly to normal plants after co-cultivation; promote the plants to develop big spikes and set more seeds; harvest the seeds of T0 plants separately; detect and identify the transformation results in T1 generation which is bred from each individual T0 plant. The advantages of the invention are independent of tissue culture, unlimited in genotype, unnecessary to carry resistant marker, simple and large scale to perform, and applicable to all monocot plants which can set seeds. The transformation efficiencies for wheat, rice and maize using this method are 49%, 66.3%, and 100%, respectively.

A multi-party security protocol that incorporates biometric-based authentication and withstands attacks against any single party (e.g., mobile phone, cloud, or the user). The protocol involves the function split between mobile and cloud and the mechanisms to chain-hold the secrets. A key generation mechanisms binds secrets to a specific device or URL (uniform resource locator) by adding salt to a master credential. An inline CAPTCHA (Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart) handling mechanism uses the same sensor modality as the authentication process, which not only improves the usability, but also facilitates the authentication process. This architecture further enhances existing overall system security (e.g., handling untrusted or compromised cloud service, phone being lost, impersonation, etc.) and also improves the usability by automatically handling the CAPTCHA.

A method and a kit for the detection of Trichomonas infection by detecting N-acetyl-β-D-hexosaminidase activity in a sample, and a method and a kit for the detection of Trichomonas or Candida infection by detecting N-acetyl-β-D-hexosaminidase activity in a sample. The presence of a Trichomonas or a Candida infection can be distinguished by a pH of the sample.

Methods of regenerating tissue using progenitor cells in combination with primary cells from a target tissue are disclosed. In particular, progenitor cells catalyze proliferation and tissue production by primary cells allowing the use of fewer primary cells from a target tissue for effective tissue regeneration. Cell-based therapies combining progenitor cells and primary cells can be used for repair and regeneration of damaged tissue and organs for treating bodily injuries and degenerative diseases. For example, adipose-derived stem cells and neonatal articular chondrocytes, co-encapsulated in mixed or bilayered cultures in a hydrogel comprising chondroitin sulfate methacrylate and poly(ethylene)glycol diacrylate, generated cartilage that could be used for treatment of traumatic injuries or diseases involving cartilage degeneration. Moreover, the inventors showed that progenitor cells could be used to stimulate cartilage formation with a minimal number of primary cells, as few as 1% or less, in mixed cultures containing primary cells and progenitor cells.

This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus relating to implementations of a switchable substrate that can be used in an imaging device. In one aspect, the switchable substrate includes a plurality of pixels, with each pixel having at least one switchable element. The switchable element can be switched between a first optical state and a second optical state. In the first optical state, a first spectral band of broadband light is reflected from the switchable element while a second spectral band is transmitted through the switchable element. In the second optical state, the first spectral band of the broadband light is transmitted through the switchable element while the second spectral band is reflected from the switchable element.

Devices and methods for fast, sensitive hydrogen gas detection using a single palladium nanowire. In one embodiment, a hydrogen sensor comprises a palladium nanowire extending between metal contacts. The palladium nanowire is not subject to fracturing when exposed to hydrogen. The nanowire is able to rapidly and reversibly detect hydrogen as a resistance increase down to 2 ppm with excellent reproducibility and baseline stability at room temperature.
