Abstract:
In a first embodiment, a system, including an exhaust duct configured to flow an exhaust gas, and an air injection system coupled to the exhaust duct, wherein the air injection system comprises a first air injector configured to inject air into the exhaust duct to assist flow of the exhaust gas through the exhaust duct.
Abstract:
A system includes a temperature control system configured to couple to an air intake section of a gas turbine system. The temperature control system includes a variable heating system having one or more heaters configured to heat an airflow in the air intake section when the airflow is cooled by an evaporative cooling system. The temperature control system is configured to control the variable heating system to vary an amount of heat supplied by the one or more heaters based on at least one temperature measurement relative to a temperature threshold.
Abstract:
An expansion joint for use between a turbine duct and a diffuser duct includes a first flange coupled to the turbine duct, a second flange coupled to the diffuser duct, and a flexible element positioned between and coupled to the first flange of the turbine duct and the second flange of the diffuser duct. The flexible element defines a trough for receiving a liquid therein. The trough includes a drain pipe configured to channel the liquid away from the trough.
Abstract:
An exhaust stack assembly includes an exhaust stack having an internal surface that defines an interior of the exhaust stack. The exhaust stack is configured to receive exhaust gas from at least one turbomachine component and exhaust the exhaust gas to atmosphere. The exhaust gas assembly further includes a plurality of attenuation assemblies disposed in the interior, each of the plurality of attenuation assemblies including a base substrate generally oriented in the direction of flow of the exhaust gas through the interior, each of the plurality of attenuation assemblies further including a plurality of attenuation modules mounted to the base substrate. Each of the plurality of attenuation modules includes a fiber mesh. The fiber mesh is exposed to the exhaust gas in the interior.
Abstract:
An evaporative cooling system for a gas turbine includes a first plurality of evaporative cooling media, spaced from the other evaporative cooling media. The system also includes a plurality of valves, with water flowing through at least one valve to fully wet at least one evaporative cooling medium. In one mode of operation, at least one evaporative cooling medium remains dry.
Abstract:
The present application provides an inlet air system for cooling an inlet air flow to a compressor of a gas turbine engine. The inlet air system may include a wetted media pad and a drift eliminator positioned downstream of the wetted media pad with an air gap therebetween. The drift eliminator may include a fibrous media pad.
Abstract:
The present application provides a pulse filtration system for use with a compressor of a gas turbine engine. The pulse filtration system may include a pulse filter, a compressed air system in communication with the pulse filter, and a hydrophobic filter bag surrounding the pulse filter in whole or in part.
Abstract:
The present disclosure is direct to a system for regulating a velocity of gases in a turbomachine. The system includes an exhaust section of the turbomachine. The system also includes a damper having an actuator and a restriction. The damper is positioned within the exhaust section and is operable to adjust the velocity of the gases based on a position of the restriction. The system further includes a controller communicatively coupled to the damper. The controller is configured to control the position of the restriction to regulate the velocity of the gases relative to a predetermined velocity range.
