Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for providing vehicles with video feed for making a turn. In one example, a vehicle includes sensors, a transceiver, a processor, and a display device. The sensors are configured to generate sensor data pertaining to operation of the vehicle. The processor is configured to determine when the vehicle is about to make a turn at an intersection, based at least in part on the sensor data. The transceiver is configured to receive a video feed from one or more cameras of a second vehicle, the second vehicle disposed proximate the intersection, when the vehicle is about to make a turn, for use in assistance with making the turn of the vehicle at the intersection. The display device is configured to display the video feed in accordance with instructions provided by the processor.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for a vehicle towing a trailer within a lane of a roadway that include: reconstructing, via a processor onboard the vehicle, lane markings for the trailer using lane markers as sensed via camera data; transforming the reconstructed lane markings, using additional sensor data, to a perspective of the trailer; localizing the trailer within the transformed lane markers using historical camera lane marking information, articulated vehicle dynamics, hitch angle, and trailer dimensions, without needing to add additional trailer lane sensing cameras to the trailer; calculating a time to lane crossing (T-TTLC) value for the trailer and vehicle; generating candidate blended paths of the trailer and the vehicle with a centerline of the lane of the roadway; and controlling operation of the vehicle, the trailer, or both, via instructions provided by the processor to keep the vehicle, the trailer, or both within a lane of travel.

Abstract: A method and system to perform dynamic demosaicing for a camera in a vehicle involve an array of image sensors of the camera to obtain light intensity values. Each image sensor of the array of image sensors represents a pixel. An array of filters of the camera overlays the array of image sensors and restricts a wavelength range for which the one image sensor of the array of image sensors obtains the light intensity value. The array of filters includes at least two different types of filters corresponding with two different wavelength ranges. A processor estimates a current state associated with the vehicle and selects a demosaicing algorithm based on the current state such that, for each pixel, the demosaicing algorithm facilitates an estimate of the light intensity value at a different wavelength range than the wavelength range for which the corresponding image sensor obtained the light intensity value.

Abstract: A vehicle includes a sensor unit, a body, a camera, a display, and a controller. The sensor unit obtains sensor data pertaining to conditions pertaining to the vehicle. The camera is mounted on the body, and includes a lens. The display is disposed within the body, and provides images from the camera. The controller is configured to at least facilitate rotating the lens, based at least in part on the one or more conditions, between a first position and a second position. When in the first position, the lens has a first focal length, resulting in images for the display with a first field of view. When in the second position, the lens has a second focal length that is shorter than the first focal length, resulting in images for the display with a second field of view that is wider than the first field of view.
