摘要: A switch which includes an internal metal strap which is captivated by a top enclosure and a bottom enclosure with the top enclosure being configured to captivate the strap and provide an attachment point for a switch actuator. The bottom enclosure also functions to captivate the strap and provide an enclosure for electrical terminals. The strap has a substantially planar configuration and contains at least one member which functions to position and orient said strap in a predetermined location with respect to both the top and bottom enclosures.

摘要: The present invention is directed to an electrical wiring device that includes a frameless shutter assembly disposed in the front cover portion or in a separator member between the receptacle openings and the receptacle terminals. The frameless shutter assembly comprises a first shutter member and a second shutter member configured to move from a closed position to an open position when the hot and neutral blades of a plug blade set are simultaneously inserted into the receptacle openings to engage a set of receptacle terminals and remain closed otherwise. The front cover member and/or the at least one separator includes a first stop member disposed proximate the first shutter member and a second stop member being disposed proximate the second shutter member.

摘要: The present invention is directed to an electrical wiring device that includes a lighting assembly module disposed in the housing assembly and coupled to a set of line terminals. A control circuit is configured to provide a modulated lighting control signal to the lighting assembly module when AC power is being provided. The modulated lighting control signal is configured to adjust an intensity of the light emitted by a light emitting device such that the intensity is a function of the ambient light level. The control circuit is further configured to provide a second lighting control signal configured to turn the lighting assembly ON at a predetermined intensity for a predetermined period of time when AC power is not being provided by the source of AC power, the second lighting control signal being provided by a rechargeable electrical storage device.

An interrupting contact assembly is coupled to the fault detection circuit, the interrupting contact assembly including a contact assembly configured to provide electrical continuity between the plurality of line terminals, the plurality of feed-through load terminals, and the plurality of receptacle load terminals in a reset state, and interrupt the electrical continuity in a tripped state in response to the fault detection signal.

The illumination assembly includes at least one light emitting element, an illumination circuit, and at least one lens disposed in at least one lens cover opening in optical communication with at least one light emitting element. The illumination circuit is configured to selectively drive the at least one light emitting element between a deenergized state and a light emitting state in response to an ambient light condition, a miswire condition, an end-of-life condition, a reset state or a trip state. The at least one lens has a surface area such that light emitted by the at least one light emitting element is directed into a spatial volume proximate the electrical wiring device.

摘要: The present invention is directed to an electrical wiring protection device that includes a housing assembly having a plurality of line terminals and a plurality of load terminals. A fault detection circuit is coupled to at least one of the plurality of line terminals and configured to generate a fault detection signal in response to detecting at least one fault condition in the electrical distribution system. A circuit interrupter is coupled to the fault detection circuit. The circuit interrupter is configured to couple the plurality of line terminals to the plurality of load terminals to form a conductive electrical path in a reset state, and decouple the plurality of line terminals from the plurality of load terminals in response to a fault detection signal in a tripped state. A voltage transient suppression circuit is coupled to at least one of the plurality of line terminals. The voltage transient suppression circuit is configured to generate a signal simulating the at least one fault condition in the event of failure.

The at least one electric circuit includes a plurality of electric power transmitting wires disposed between an electric power source interface and at least one electrical device location. The system includes an electrical wiring device disposed at the at least one electrical device location. The electrical wiring device includes a predefined coupling area having a plurality of electrical wiring device contacts disposed therein. A connector assembly includes a plurality of electrical connector contacts disposed therein. The connector assembly is configured to be directly connected to the plurality of electrical power transmitting wires such that electrical continuity is established between the plurality of electrical power transmitting wires and the plurality of electrical connector contacts. The connector assembly is also configured to be disposed in a contacting relationship with the predefined coupling area of the electrical wiring device such that electrical continuity is established between the plurality of electrical connector contacts and the plurality of electrical wiring device contacts.

The modular electrical device further includes an electrical wiring assembly chosen from a plurality of electrical wiring assemblies. Each of the plurality of electrical wiring assemblies has a different functional configuration, and each of the plurality of electrical wiring devices being sized to fit in the selected frame member. The modular electrical device further includes a set of terminal contacts selected from a plurality of sets of terminal contacts. Each set of terminal contacts is matched to accommodate one of the plurality of electrical wiring assemblies.

摘要: The present invention is directed to an electrical wiring protection device that includes a housing assembly having at least one receptacle. The receptacle is configured to receive plug contact blades inserted therein. The housing assembly includes a hot line terminal, a neutral line terminal, a hot load terminal, and a neutral load terminal. A set of receptacle contacts is disposed in the housing assembly and in communication with the receptacle. The receptacle contacts includes a hot user-accessible load contact and a neutral user accessible load contact. A fault detection circuit is coupled to the test assembly. The fault detection circuit is configured to detect at least one fault condition and provide a fault detect signal in response thereto. A four-pole interrupting contact assembly is coupled to the fault detection circuit and includes a set of four-pole interrupting contacts. A reset mechanism is coupled to the four-pole interrupting contact assembly. The reset mechanism includes a reset button and a reset actuator configured to reestablish electrical continuity between the first pair of hot contacts, the second pair of hot contacts, the first pair of neutral contacts, and the second pair of neutral contacts in response to a reset stimulus.
