Abstract: The present disclosure discloses a control system. The control system may include a master controller and one or more subordinate controllers. The master controller may include a first switch, a first input port, and a first output port. The first input port may be connected to the first output port, and the first output port may be connected to an electric device. The subordinate controller may be electrically connected to the master controller. The subordinate controller may include a second switch, a third switch, a second input port, and a second output port connected to a hot wire. The third switch may control on/off statuses of the first switch and the second switch. The second switch and the third switch may be connected between the second input port and the second output port. The second switch may be may be connected in parallel with the third switch.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to a method of detecting an occupancy state of a living space for controlling an on/off performance of an electrical apparatus. The method comprises using a motion sensor to send wave signal and detect wave signal reflected from a moving human body and using a dual sensitivity detection arrangement including a low sensitivity detection mode and a high sensitivity detection mode respectively performed for identifying the wave signal being a motion signal according to the electrical apparatus being in a turned-off state or in a turned-on state. The dual sensitivity detection arrangement enables the motion sensor to more precisely detect the occupancy state of a living space while minimizing a probability of the electrical apparatus being activated by a noise signal.

The sensor is operable to sense the presence or absence of a dominant wavelength associated with the environmental light. Additionally, the controller is operable to correlate the dominant wavelength with a substance, the controller is configured to detect a level of the dominant wavelength correlated with the substance, and the controller is configured to operate the lighting system to generate an alert based upon the detected level of the dominant wavelength.

Abstract: A variety of applications for UV LEDs that are integrated into a system are described, where the UV light is used for disinfection of air or surfaces, or used to detect the scattering light by particles, or used for skin treatment. In one embodiment, a ceiling luminaire includes a sensor for detecting the presence of people in the room. The luminaire contains a first set of LEDs for generating white light, for illumination, and a second set of LEDs for generating UV light for disinfecting the room. When the sensor detects that no people are in the room, the system automatically controls the UV LEDs to turn on to disinfect the room. The white light LEDs may be independently controlled with a dimmer.

Abstract: In a single lighting device including a large number of light-emitting elements (LEEs), the LEEs are divided into separately powered groups, and different combinations of the groups are fully energized to achieve the desired overall brightness. In some embodiments, the number of LEEs in each group has a binary relationship to the other groups. The resolution of the dimming is the brightness of the smallest group. In one example of five binary weighted groups of LEEs, 32 brightness levels can be achieved while the LEEs in the energized groups are fully ON. Thus, since there is no high frequency switching, there is substantially no power dissipation by the dimming control system, and there is limited noise or EMI created. The dimming control can be easily implemented with a logic circuit controlling a transistor switch for each group.
