Abstract:
Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for using pre-search triggers. In one aspect, a method includes identifying one or more topics and determining that a confidence score associated with a particular topic of the one or more identified topics satisfies a predetermined threshold value. An occurrence of a pre-search trigger can be detected. In response to determining that the confidence score associated with the particular topic satisfies the predetermined threshold value and detecting the occurrence of the pre-search trigger, a search engine can be instructed to execute a search using a search query associated with the particular topic. A representation of a resource identified in results received in response to the search can be provided.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for changing visited hyperlink appearance based on user activity are described. One method includes visually indicating a user's browsing history on a results page, detecting an accidental selection of a result, the detecting being effected based on a length of time spent browsing a selected web page, changing the results page to provide a visual indication distinguishing the result accidentally selected from other selected results, and displaying the revised results page.
Abstract:
A method for generating an audible information request form, comprising, receiving web page data for a website, analyzing the web page data to determine attributes related to a user interactive web element of the website, generating an audible form comprising one or more audible information inquiries based on the user interactive web element and establishing a telephone connection with a phone device associated with a second user. In certain aspects, the method further comprises steps for prompting the second user by providing the one or more audible information inquiries to the phone device, receiving audible response information from the phone device, wherein the audible response information comprises one or more responses related to the one or more audible information inquiries; and generating a request form based on the one or more responses. Systems and computer-readable media are also provided.
Abstract:
A system and method are provided that deliver content information to devices according to gestures input into a user device. The method includes detecting the presence and the location of a plurality of target devices that are in proximity to a user device. An extended gesture associated with the source device may be detected and a direction associated with the extended gesture may be determined by a processor. Based on the direction of the extended gesture, a destination device may be selected from the plurality of target devices. The source device and the destination device may be identified, and the delivery of content information to the destination device may be performed.
Abstract:
The subject matter of this specification can be implemented in, among other things, a method for integrating personal content items in existing programming content. The method includes a step for selecting one or more personal content items. The method also includes a step for converting the selected content items to a presentation format. The method also includes a step for providing the converted content items for integration with existing programming content.
Abstract:
Methods and systems for generating a content item associated with search results and, based on a subsequent return to the search results, providing the content item in a modified manner.
Abstract:
A system and methods for managing applications on a mobile device. One method includes: receiving context data related to the mobile device; assigning a situational utility score to one or more applications available in an application repository by analyzing the context data and tags associated with the one or more applications to determine which applications have situational usefulness; and when a first application has a situational utility score greater than a first threshold value, displaying a prompt on the mobile device to install the first application.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, apparatus, and computer programs encoded on computer storage medium, for receiving a set of expected activities, each expected activity in the set of expected activities including an activity that is expected to be performed by a computing device, determining one or more time periods based on the set of expected activities, determining one or more expected rates of change of state of charge (SOC) of a battery of the mobile computing device by, for each time period of the one or more time periods, determining an expected rate of change of SOC based on a base rate of change of SOC and one or more expected activities associated with the time period, and determining an estimated remaining time based on the one or more expected rates of change of SOC, the remaining time corresponding to a time at which an expected SOC is less than a threshold SOC.
Abstract:
Implementations herein include receiving a first signal from a first mobile computing device, the first signal indicative of a first state change and receiving a second signal from a second mobile computing device, the second signal indicative of a second state change. The method may also include determining that the first state change and the second state change are related, and that the first mobile computing device and the second mobile computing device are currently located at a common geographic location. The method may further include determining that a third mobile computing device is currently located at the common geographic location. The method may also include transmitting to the third mobile computing device, a third signal indicative of a recommended state change, the recommended state change being based on the first state change at the first mobile computing device and the second state change at the second mobile computing device.
Abstract:
Methods and systems are provided for customizing an action. In some implementations, voice input is received from a user and a context is determined from the voice input. Potential contextual data is identified based on the context and the voice input. A level of confidence is determined for an association of the potential contextual data and the context. An action is performed based on the voice input, the potential contextual data, and the level of confidence. The potential contextual data is used to customize the action.
