    Abstract: A foldable device may include a foldable layer and a hinge mechanism that supports and guides the folding and unfolding of the foldable device including the foldable layer. The hinge mechanism may include a spring stiffener made of a high yield strength material to support the folding and the unfolding of the foldable device. The spring stiffener may have a first end thereof fixed to a first portion of a housing of the computing device, and a second end thereof that is slidable relative to a second portion of the housing. The sliding of the second end of the spring stiffener may accommodate the bending of a bendable section of the foldable layer.

    Abstract: An electronic stylus can include an elongated body, a rechargeable battery supported by the elongated body, a retention mechanism extending from the elongated body, a retention mechanism, and a release mechanism. The retention mechanism can include an electrically conductive contact. The electrically conductive contact can be electrically coupled to the rechargeable battery. The release mechanism can be configured to cause the electrically conductive contact to retract within the retention mechanism.

    Abstract: An electronics subassembly for a computing device that receives a pressing force from a user is disclosed. The electronics subassembly is mounted in the computing device using fasteners that are aligned parallel to the pressing force to prevent unwanted flexure of the electronics subassembly. The orientation of the fasteners requires holes to be form in a direction that is not suited for a standard tool. As a result, the manufacturing method includes forming the holes through an aperture in a sidewall of the housing of the computing device so that the bulk of the tool used for drilling is not constrained by the interior dimensions of the housing.
