摘要: A method and apparatus for accessing the uniformity of a charging subsystem with a resolution which enables one to make accurate predictions of customer acceptance of the charging device. The method and apparatus employs a scanner that scans the light emitted from a recording member such as a phosphor coated substrate while the charging device under test is in operation against the substrate, the uniformity of device can be processed using off-the-self image analysis tools. This enables imaging the generated charge pattern with improved spatial resolution and offers a quantitative technique to measure charge uniformity.

摘要: An electrostatographic printing apparatus comprises a charge receptor, and a transfer station for transferring a toner image from the charge receptor to a sheet by providing an electric field of predetermined magnitude at a transfer zone. The transfer station includes a rotatable transfer member, with a cleaning corotron associated therewith. A control system for maintaining a constant current at the transfer zone takes into account a current supplied by the cleaning corotron. The control system can also take into account current leakages associated with the transfer member.

摘要: A developer roll sleeve and method for making the same is disclosed. In a preferred embodiment, a core substrate roll is spray coated with a conductive composition including a host resin composition and a wear-resistance imparting additive. Preferably, the host resin composition includes a phenolic thermosetting resin and a conductivity additive such as carbon black, graphite and the like. Further, the wear resistance imparting additive is preferably selected from the group consisting of a polytetrafluoroethylene resin (e.g., Teflon), graphite, ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene having a molecular weight from about 3,000 to about 4,500 grams, molybdenum, molybdenum disulfide, silicone and mixtures thereof. The wear resistance imparting additive is preferably provided in an amount sufficient to obtain a thickness wear rate of less than about 0.00047 percent per printing cycle.

摘要: Exemplary embodiments provide methods, materials and devices for a corona charging. Specifically, carbon nanotube yarns can be used as corona wires (or coronode) in a corotron-type or scorotron-type charging device. The carbon nanotube yarns can provide small diameters, and desired electrical, mechanical and thermal properties. The carbon nanotube yarns can have a diameter of about 100 microns or less for a low operating voltage of the charging device.
