Abstract: An example of a printing apparatus comprising a scanning printhead and a controller is disclosed. The scanning printhead comprises a plurality of nozzles to print using a mask comprising a ramp area and non-ramp area. A first subset of nozzles of the plurality of nozzles is assigned to the ramp area and the second subset of nozzles of the plurality of nozzles is assigned to the non-ramp area. The controller is to calculate a number of spits of a nozzle from the second subset of nozzles for a pass. The controller is also to calculate a number of spits of a nozzle from the first subset of nozzles for the pass based on the number of spits of the nozzle from the second subset of nozzles. The controller is further to instruct the nozzle from the first subset of nozzles to eject online an amount of a composition on a service zone based on the number of spits of the first subset of nozzles.

Abstract: A printing method and system include a printhead configured to eject a fixer fluid. A controller is operatively connected to the printhead and configured to control the printhead so as to apply the fixer fluid to a print area in a pattern to form cells having a predetermined area without the fixer fluid.

Abstract: The present disclosure is related to deposition of print treatments. In an example, treatment is to be deposited on substrate dot locations to receive ink according to selected treatment-to-ink regimes. The selected treatment-to-ink regimes include a variable treatment-to-ink regime and a constant treatment-to-ink regime. The variable treatment-to-ink regime is for depositing a variable amount of treatment dependent on the amount of ink to be deposited in a substrate dot location when the ink amount in the substrate dot location is below a threshold. The constant treatment-to-ink regime is for depositing a selected constant amount of treatment in a substrate dot location and an area surrounding the substrate dot location when the ink amount in the substrate dot location is above the threshold. Other examples are illustrated herein.

Abstract: A print apparatus is disclosed. The print apparatus comprises a plurality of printing elements; and a temperature control unit, controllable by processing circuitry, to increase an operating temperature of a first printing element in the plurality of printing elements by a defined amount relative to an operating temperature of a second printing element in the plurality of printing elements. A method and a machine-readable medium are also disclosed.

Abstract: A printing apparatus is disclosed. The printing apparatus comprises a printhead and a controller. The printhead includes an array of nozzles, each having an actuator to eject a printing fluid, the array of nozzles having a first and a second subset of nozzles, wherein the first subset is located at the vicinity of an edge of the printhead. The controller is to assign a firing mask so that the actuators corresponding to the first subset of nozzles are instructed to eject the printing fluid with a higher energy level than the actuators corresponding to the second subset of nozzles.
