    摘要: A first optical system irradiates a target with a detecting wave and making the detecting wave that is transmitted through the target incident upon the electrooptical crystal. A second optical system slants a pulse plane of a probe wave relative to a pulse plane of the detecting wave and making the probe wave incident upon the electrooptical crystal. A camera detects the probe wave passing through the electrooptical crystal. The first or second optical system includes a compensating component which partitions a beam cross section of the detecting wave or the probe wave into unit areas. The optical component makes different an optical path length of a beam passing each unit area and compensates a phase shifting between the pulse plane of the detecting wave and the pulse plane of the probe wave at positions in a crossing direction of a surface of the electrooptical crystal and the virtual plane.

    摘要: A liquid crystal composition in which deterioration of viscosity that is associated with an increase in Δn and an increase in Δ∈ is suppressed, and a liquid crystal display element having a markedly improved response speed by using the relevant liquid crystal composition. The liquid crystal composition has a large value of Δn and negative Δ∈, and have large absolute values thereof. Also, the liquid crystal composition has low η, has excellent liquid crystal properties, and exhibits a liquid crystal phase that is stable in a wide temperature range. Furthermore, since the liquid crystal composition is chemically stable to heat, light, water and the like, the liquid crystal composition is capable of low voltage driving, and is practically useful and highly reliable.

    摘要: An optical film 10 of the present invention includes a plurality of optically anisotropic layers 13 which are laminated, wherein the optically anisotropic layer including: a photoalignment layer (A) 11, in which a liquid crystal aligning capability has been generated by means of photoirradiation; and a polymer layer (B) 12, which contains a liquid crystal compound that has a polymerizable group, and which is obtained by polymerization in a state where it has been aligned by the photoalignment layer (A) 11, wherein the photoalignment layer (A) 11 and the polymer layer (B) 12 are bonded by covalent bonding. The plurality of optically anisotropic layers 13 may be an optically anisotropic layer 13 having a function of a one-half wavelength plate, and an optically anisotropic layer 13 having a function of a one-quarter wavelength plate.

    摘要: A light emitting element is mounted on the surface of a board. The light emitting element emits light. The light passes through a translucent optical member. The light enters the translucent optical member through a incident surface. The lines of protrusions make the incident surface jagged. The jagged surface resulting from the protrusions enables diffusion of the light entering through the incident surface. The light spreads along the surface of the board. Simultaneously, the emitted light is partly reflected on the incident surface. The reflected light is reflected on a reflecting surface placed behind the light emitting element. The reflected light then enters the translucent optical member. The translucent optical member is thus allowed to illuminate over a wide range with a sufficient brightness. An impressive illumination can be realized.
