Abstract:
An information processing apparatus has an authentication & key exchange unit, a contents receiver, a contents decryption unit and a contents confirmation request unit. The authentication & key exchange unit performs authentication & key exchange processing by using a given protocol with the communication apparatus and generates a first key shared with the communication apparatus. The contents receiver receives encrypted contents obtained by encrypting the contents with a second key generated by using the first key and the key information, and the key information attached to the encrypted contents. The contents decryption unit decrypts the encrypted contents by using the first key and the key information. The contents confirmation request unit instructs the communication apparatus to transmit or confirm the key information held by the communication apparatus, when the contents decryption unit decrypts the contents based on the second key firstly generated by using the first key.

A content reproducing apparatus includes: a disc drive device that reproduces content recorded on a recording medium; a network controller that controls data transmission between an external server specified by the content reproduced by the disc drive device; a content protection encoder/decoder unit that: (1) encodes a request to be sent to the external server via a proxy server that decodes the request; and (2) decodes a response from the external server being transmitted in response to the request decoded by the proxy server, the response being encoded by the proxy server; and a controller that controls the network controller and the content protection decode/encoder unit.

A device on the sending and playing device plays and outputs a content recorded to a recording medium on the sending side. A device on the receiving and recording side receives the played and outputted content and records it to a recording medium on the receiving side. The device on the sending and playing device erases the content recorded to the device on the sending and playing device based on recording-state information of the device on the receiving and recording side by using the sent played content. Thus, in move processing of a “Copy Once” content, it is possible to prevent the loss of content by the device on the sending and playing side when the device on the receiving and recording and side does not normally record the content.
