摘要: A positioning method and a positioning device are disclosed for controlling an actuator and moving it to a target position. The positioning method generates a random wave signal RN and detects a position error from the target position. The servo control signal CV is generated to position the actuator back to the target position, and the random wave signal RN is added to the servo control signal CV to generate a control signal. Since a random, minute vibration is constantly applied to the actuator to avoid the assumption of a static state by bearings of the actuator, the actuator is affected only by dynamic friction, and relative to the control value, its movement is representative of a linear characteristic. As a result, the positioning accuracy is enhanced, and since the random wave is employed, there is no deterioration of the positioning accuracy of the servo system.

摘要: A disk control section of a disk apparatus comprises an identification section for identifying information regarding a position at which head positioning servo information is stored. A position calculation unit calculates the position on a disk medium where recording/reproduction of record information is to be performed. A comparison and decision unit compares the information regarding the position identified by the identification unit with the position information calculated by the position calculation unit each time a predetermined command is received from a higher-level device, and for deciding whether or not the position identified by the identification unit is the position at which the record information is to be recorded on or reproduced. A skip recording/reproduction unit carries out control such that when it is judged, on the basis of the result of the comparison, that the position identified by the identification unit is the position at which recording/reproduction of the record information is to be performed, the record information is recorded/reproduced while skipping the position identified by the identification unit. Accordingly, it becomes possible to record and reproduce variable-length data even in a sector-servo type disk apparatus and a hybrid type disk apparatus, so that their storage capacities can be used effectively.

摘要: Upon heat being liberated, a latent heat storage material is kept in indirect contact with a heat transfer medium through a heat liberation or output accelerating material. Thus, the heat of fusion of the storage material is taken out with high efficiency. Since a heat input accelerating material is taken into a solid phase of the storage material, the heat input velocity at which heat is transferred to the storage material is greatly increased when heat is transferred or stored thereinto. Thus, a practical latent heat storage device having excellent heat input and output characteristic has been materialized.

摘要: A read signal from a head is amplified by a read amplifier disposed on a head actuator and is fed via a pair of read only transmission paths through an FPC to a control board. The read only transmission paths are provided with a compensation circuit consisting of an inductance and a resistor which are connected in parallel. The compensation circuit compensates for degradation of frequency characteristics of a read signal attributable to stray capacitance of the FPC and to stray capacitance on the control board side.

摘要: A leakage-sound detecting apparatus is provided for efficiently detecting water leakage in a plastic pipe by increasing sensitivity to a low frequency sound component and efficiently reducing stray noise, as well as protecting a piezoelectric element. To this end a detection portion and a pedestal portion are connected through a mechanical resonant member formed of a soft material. A low frequency sound component is amplified by the resonant member, and high frequency components are substantially attenuated. In an alternative arrangement a detection portion and a mechanical resonant member mounted on a pedestal portion are connected through a buffer portion having a buffer member arranged therein. When a shock is applied to the bottom of the pedestal portion, due to the apparatus being dropped for example, the buffer member is compressed, and no overload is applied to a piezoelectric element.
