摘要： A telephone having a plurality of key tops and a small number of light sources for illuminating the key tops with a thin construction. A switch panel formed of a transparent material is mounted on a case of the telephone. The switch panel has a plurality of holes through which the key tops of a key top sheet are respectively inserted. An opaque film is formed on an outer surface of the switch panel. A plurality of conductive contracts are formed on a lower surface of the key top sheet at positions corresponding to the respective key tops. A plurality of switch patterns are formed on a printed circuit board so as to respectively face the conductive contacts. With this construction, the switch panel functions as a light guiding board, thereby efficiently illuminating the plurality of key tops by means of the small number of light sources such as LEDs.

摘要： A portable telephone having a cover (14) rotatably mounted to a cover body (2). When the cover (14) is in a closed condition, it covers and protects a switch section of the body (2), while when the cover (14) is in an open condition, it is held in a stable position at a predetermined inclined angle with respect to the body (2) by a cover holding mechanism. When the cover (14) is in the open condition, it also functions as a voice reflecting and collecting board for a microphone provided in the body (2).

摘要： A portable telephone set housing having an illuminated switch portion. A flexible printed circuit board having a membrane switch and a liquid crystal display is mounted onto a support base of the telephone set housing. Onto the flexible printed circuit board is placed a key top sheet having a plurality of key tops. A switch panel having a plurality of holes for inserting therein of the key tops is mounted onto the key top sheet. The switch panel includes a transparent resin plate having an ink coating formed on the surface thereof except for a portion corresponding to the position of the display portion. In the membrane switch portion of the flexible printed circuit board, a plurality of light emitting diodes are provided which are adapted to introduce light into the interior of the switch panel.

摘要： A portable telephone includes a multi-function key-switch unit in which a key top is operated in a plurality of directions. The multi-function key-switch unit comprises a stick switch which comprises a switch body and a stick projecting from the switch body, and the approximately cylindrical key top which is attached to the stick. The key top has a stopper portion provided on the bottom surface thereof, the stopper portion coming into contact with the switch body when the key top is operated to more than a predetermined degree so as to prevent the key top from inclining more than a predetermined angle.

摘要： A battery charger for use with a portable telephone set and capable of charging both a battery pack mounted on the telephone set and a battery pack as a discrete unit. The case of the battery charger comprises a concave portion on the top thereof, a first convex portion at one end of the top and a second convex portion at the other end of the top. The concave portion of the top engages with a convex portion of the first battery pack. The first convex portion engages with a concave portion of the portable telephone set. The second convex portion engages with a concave portion common to the first battery pack and the second battery pack. Inside the case is a printed circuit board having charging circuits. A pair of charging terminals electrically connected to the charging circuits protrude from the case top. The battery charger further includes a battery pack holder removably attached to the case, the holder holding the battery pack from above to prevent its dislodging from the case.

摘要： A charger for portable terminal equipment, capable of distinguishing a nickel-hydride battery pack and a nickel-cadmium battery pack and of detecting an on-hook/off-hook condition even when the nickel-hydride battery pack is used. The charger includes a charging circuit, a pair of third charging terminals connected to the charging circuit and adapted to be selectively connected to either a pair of first charging terminals of the nickel-hydride battery pack or a pair of second charging terminals of the nickel-cadmium battery pack, and a third auxiliary terminal adapted to be selectively connected to either a first auxiliary terminal of the nickel-hydride battery pack or a second auxiliary terminal of the nickel-cadmium battery pack. The charger further includes a device for comparing a voltage at the third auxiliary terminal with a first reference voltage and detecting the on-hook condition or the off-hook condition of the portable terminal equipment, and a device for comparing the voltage at the third auxiliary terminal with a second reference voltage lower than the first reference voltage and distinguishing the nickel-hydride battery pack and the nickel-cadmium battery pack.
