The probe data processing method in this application includes obtaining a bitstream, parsing the bitstream to obtain first probe data in a current probe data group, where the first probe data corresponds to a non-linear domain signal, obtaining a conversion function parameter of the current probe data group, obtaining an inverse conversion function of the current probe data group based on the conversion function parameter of the current probe data group, and performing spatial inverse conversion on the first probe data according to the inverse conversion function to obtain second probe data in the current probe data group, where the second probe data corresponds to one or more probes in a three-dimensional scene, and the second probe data corresponds to a linear domain signal.

The video encoding apparatus may obtain source data, where the source data includes first high dynamic range HDR data and a first standard dynamic range SDR bitstream for same video data; map reconstructed data of the first SDR bitstream to second HDR data based on a correspondence between the reconstructed data of the first SDR bitstream and the first HDR data; determine a target residual value between the second HDR data and the first HDR data, where a bit width of the target residual value is less than or equal to a data bit width for encoding a first SDR video into the first SDR bitstream; encode the correspondence and the target residual value, to determine preset data; and transmit the first SDR bitstream to which the preset data is added.

Abstract: An image processing method includes obtaining a target picture and an initial tone mapping curve of the target picture, determining a plurality of interpolation points based on luminance information and/or dynamic metadata of the target picture, and determining a spline function that passes through the plurality of interpolation points, where the spline function is smoothly connected to the initial tone mapping curve at at least one of the plurality of interpolation points the initial tone mapping curve is modified based on the spline function to obtain a modified tone mapping curve of the target picture; and tone mapping is performed on the target picture based on the modified tone mapping curve. This image processing apparatus enables a display device to vividly and realistically reproduce a scene in a real world.
