    Abstract: Embodiments of the present patent application disclose an OpenFlow-protocol-based charging method and system. The method includes: receiving, by an interface protocol OpenFlow switch between a routing control plane and a data plane; collecting, a session request, by the OpenFlow switch, charging data for the session according to a preset charging rule and by using a charging parameter obtained through an OpenFlow interface; and sending, by the OpenFlow switch, the collected charging data to a charging system, so that the charging system performs charging according to the charging data.
