Abstract:
During the process of compressing air, atmospheric air along with water vapor and airborne contaminants are ingested into the air compressor. Many of these compressors utilize oil for lubrication, sealing and cooling. A compressor system utilizes drain valves to remove the condensate that accumulates in the system which are typically located on the compressor, moisture separators, coalescing filters, receivers, dryers, and drip legs. While the drain valves successfully remove the condensate, this condensate is now contaminated with lubricant. The compressor system also includes a filter for the removal of lubricant from the condensed water so that the water can be discharged to sewer. The filter is arranged to house a series of vertically stacked filter cartridges, each cartridge structured to pass fluid flow to the other cartridge. The housing and the cartridges each having registration surfaces to position the filter within the housing and discourage removal of the same.

Abstract:
A filter head adaptor for a compressed air filter. The filter head adaptor capable of modifying a filter head to accommodate a variety of different style filter elements. The filter head adaptor including a main body connector, a filter element connector, and a second inlet channel in fluid communication between the main body connector and the filter element connector, the main body connector is adapted for coupling to the adaptor connector of the main body, whereby the main body connector is adapted for coupling to a filter head. The invention includes contemplates requiring a reduced inventory of filter heads and filter bodies for a plurality of filter elements, as the appropriate filter head adaptor may be selected which presents a particular filter element connector which matches that of the filter element intended to be used.
Abstract:
A multi-tower blower purge dryer system for use with a compressed air stream provided from a compressor is disclosed. In one form the system includes two dryers that can be alternated to dry the compressed air stream. The tower used to dry the compressed air stream can be referred to as the drying tower, and the tower being regenerated can be referred to as the regenerated tower. A number of valves and passages are used to connect the towers to one another and/or to an intake passage from the compressor. A blower purge heater is provided to regenerate the dryers. After a regeneration step in which a tower may be relatively warm, the valves can be actuated to place the warm regenerated tower in fluid communication with the intake passage from the compressor, which can then provide air to the drying tower. In this manner the regenerated tower is cooled.
Abstract:
A compressor system includes a compressor and a filter assembly that includes a holder and a replaceable filter element positioned via the holder. The holder is formed in part of a perforated wall such as a metallic mesh material wall, forming a cavity wherein the replaceable filter element is positioned. An end cap traps the replaceable filter element within the cavity. The holder is reusable, so as to reduce material waste and cost.
