Abstract: This disclosure describes systems, methods, and devices related to channel access for multi-link devices (MLDs). A MLD may identify a first backoff count associated with a first enhanced distributed channel access function (EDCAF) for a first communication link used by the MLD; identify a second backoff count associated with a second EDCAF for a second communication link used by the MLD, the first backoff count less than the second backoff count; determine a time period after that the first backoff count reaches zero and during which to refrain from transmitting using the first communication link, the time period based on the second backoff count; determine that the first communication link transitioned from an idle state to a busy state during the time period; and generate a third backoff count associated with the first EDCAF based on the first communication link transitioning to the busy state during the time period.

Abstract: This disclosure describes systems, methods, and devices related to low latency preemption. A device may divide a first PPDU into a plurality of segmented PPDUs. The device may insert a plurality of time gaps between the plurality of segmented PPDUs, wherein the plurality of time gaps enable preemptive opportunities by a low latency transmitter. The device may identify a preemption request from a low latency transmitter of the one or more station devices during a first time gap between a first segmented PPDU and a second segmented PPDU. The device may preempt the second segmented PPDU based on a preemption bit in order to allow the low latency transmitter to transmit its low latency data.

Abstract: Embodiments of a beacon interval with boundary time points (BTPs) to improve latency for time sensitive traffic (TST) in Extremely High Throughout (EHT) WLANS are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, a non-access point (AP) station (STA) is configured to decode a beacon frame received from an AP STA. The beacon frame may indicate one or more BTPs within a beacon interval (BI). The non-AP STA may obtain a transmission opportunity (TXOP) for a transmission to the AP STA. The TXOP may be bounded by the one or more BTPs. The non-AP STA may encode a PPDU for transmission to the AP STA during the TXOP.

The AP1 may to initiate a first sounding sequence with one or more STAs associated with the AP1 (BSS STAs) and the one or more STAs associated with a second AP (AP2) (OBSS STAs). In these embodiments, initiation of the first sounding sequence triggers the AP2 to join the sounding sequence to initiate a second sound sequence with the BSS STAs and the OBSS STAs.

The device may identify a first control frame received from an access point (AP) multi-link device (MLD) on the second channel. The device may cause to send a second control frame to the AP MLD on the second channel. The device may configure back to a single N×N TX/RX radio to receive a data frame.

A device may perform a first backoff countdown on a first link associated with a first station device (STA) of the device, wherein the device is a multi-link device (MLD). The device may detect a second backoff countdown associated with a second STA of the MLD after the first backoff countdown reaches zero. The device may determine to hold the first backoff countdown at zero based on the value of the second backoff countdown. The device may transmit in synchronization on the first link and on the second link from the first STA and the second STA respectively based on holding the first backoff countdown at zero.
