Abstract: A method and device for safety braking an elevator having an upright guide rail wherein the device includes a housing having braking elements on both sides of and being movable along the guide rail, a safety restraint on both sides between the housing and the braking elements, and a clampable and lockable actuating device that unlocks and unclamps in response to a triggering event and brings the braking elements into braking engagement with the guide rail. The actuating device, when unclamped, develops a feed force and movement transverse to the guide rail longitudinal axis engaging the braking elements with the guide rail from a laterally distanced initial position, wherein the braking elements are entrained by frictional contact on the guide rail and enter the safety restraint, and wherein the actuating device is moved back into the initial position, clamped and locked by the braking elements located in the safety restraint.

Abstract: An elevator car with special measures for evacuation has several side walls, a floor and a ceiling, which together enclose an interior of the elevator car. The elevator car has a flap arranged on one of the side walls and a ladder for evacuating persons from the interior of the elevator car. The flap is movable between a closed state, in which the flap blocks access from the interior of the elevator car to an area behind the flap, and an open state, in which access is possible from the interior of the elevator car to the area behind the flap. The flap has a height less than the height of the side walls. In the closed state of the flap, the ladder is arranged in the area behind the flap. The ladder is removable from behind the flap and can be increased in length for the evacuation.

Abstract: An apparatus for guiding and braking an elevator system traveling body movable along a guide track includes a holder fastened to the body, a guide device and a braking device. The holder transmits guiding forces between the guide device, guided on at least one track surface in the longitudinal direction, and the body. The guide device is held on and is elastically movable relative to the holder transverse to the longitudinal direction by at least a predetermined tolerance distance. The braking device includes a carrier and a braking element movable between a deactivated configuration, in which a braking surface of the braking element is laterally spaced apart from the guide track, and an activated configuration, in which the braking surface abuts the guide track, in a reversible manner by an activation distance transverse to the guide track. The carrier of the braking device is rigidly coupled to the guide device.

Abstract: A method and a catching device are used to catch a traveling body in an elevator system wherein traveling body is movable along a rail. The catching device includes a first braking element, a second braking element, a first guide element, a second guide element and an actuating element. The first braking element and the second braking element are brought into contact with the rail for braking. A first linear bearing is formed between the first braking element and the first guide element and a second linear bearing is formed between the second braking element and the second guide element. Both guide elements are moved between a rest position and a braking initial position, the actuating element moving the two guide elements from the rest position into the braking initial position.

Abstract: A catching device for a traveling body in an elevator system and a method for unblocking the catching device include at least two retaining units that can be brought into a blocked state and into an unblocked state, the retaining units retaining the traveling body on a rail in the blocked state. The retaining units are connected to the traveling body such that each of the retaining units and the traveling body can be slid relative to each other within a limited sliding displacement. A first sliding displacement of a first of the retaining units is longer than a second sliding displacement of a second of the retaining units.

Abstract: An elevator system includes a first elevator car, a second elevator car, a drive-machine, and a suspension apparatus that passes over a traction sheave of the drive-machine to cause the cars to travel one above the other in a travel space. The suspension apparatus is divided into a first set and a second set. A displacement mechanism fixed in the travel space interacts with the second set between the traction sheave and the second car to vary the distance between the cars. This distance can be adjusted independent of the traction sheave. The displacement mechanism can have a pulley arrangement with a displaceable pulley displaced by a displacement drive to vary a length of a section of the second set between the displacement mechanism and the second car.

Abstract: An elevator car has a connecting device and at least one wall element, wherein the connecting device connects the at least one wall element with a bare ceiling of the elevator car. The connecting device includes a rail element with two legs, of which a first leg bears in the mounted state against the bare ceiling and a second leg has a mounting surface for the at least one wall element. The mounting surface has a first hole for suspending the at least one wall element. The at least one wall element has a suspension element at an edge which faces upwardly in the mounted state for engaging into the first hole of the connecting device.
