    摘要: An apparatus compensates for mechanical disturbances during a print process by adjusting the generation of image generating head actuation signals in anticipation of a mechanical disturbance. The apparatus includes a printer controller for generating signals to coordinate movement of components with a rotating image receiver in a printer and for generating data identifying a process disturbance arising from interaction of the rotating image receiver with the components and an expected time for the process disturbance, a process disturbance compensator for generating a process disturbance compensation signal that corresponds to the process disturbance identification and timing data, and an image generating head controller for adjusting an image generating head actuation signal with the process disturbance compensation signal.

    摘要: A method for detecting gloss non-uniformities on printed documents is provided. The method includes printing a test pattern using a print engine, the test pattern having gloss; directing one or more light beams, using an illuminator, onto the test pattern to produce at least generally specular reflectance; scanning the test pattern, using a linear array sensor, to obtain image data, the image data corresponding to the generally specular reflectance from the test pattern; and enhancing contrast of the image data to facilitate detection of image quality non-uniformities in the gloss in the test pattern.

    摘要: A system for providing color analysis of a toner image on an image bearing surface with a spectrophotometer is provided. The system includes an illuminator positioned adjacent to the image bearing surface and configured to emit a light beam at the image bearing surface, a linear sensor positioned adjacent to the image bearing surface and configured to receive the light reflecting off the toner image on the image bearing surface, a gradient index lens placed in the optical path of the light beams reflecting off the image bearing surface between the image bearing surface and the linear variable filter; and the linear variable filter positioned between the linear sensor and the gradient index lens. The system is devoid of a collimating lens positioned in between the gradient index lens and the linear variable filter, and the linear variable filter and the linear sensor are spaced apart by a gap.

    摘要: A vehicle speed measurement method and system for identifying a violating vehicle utilizing single image capturing unit. A vehicle image can be captured by the image capturing unit in order to estimate speed of the vehicle utilizing an ALPR unit. The license plate characters can be located and extracted from the captured image. A distance of the license plate from the image capturing unit can be calculated utilizing a physical character height from a reference point of the image capturing unit and a pixel character height generated by the ALPR unit. A position of the license plate in the field of view of the image capturing unit along with the distance information can be utilized to determine a height of the license plate from a road surface. The height of the license plate can be employed to accurately estimate the vehicle speed.

    摘要: A power saving apparatus and method for imaging modules in a variable data lithography system is provided. The imaging modules are arranged adjacent to each other to project a scan line of imaging data on a rotating imaging member in a variable data lithography system. The imaging module includes a look ahead buffer which stores imaging data and from which the stored data is read out for projection on the imaging member. The power saving apparatus uses an image look ahead concept to save part of the power consumed in the imaging modules in the projection mode of operation by selectively powering each laser source based on the imaging data in the look ahead buffer.

    摘要: An image printing system configured to minimize two-dimensional image quality non-uniformities on printed documents is provided. The image printing system includes a marking engine, a linear array sensor, an image analyzer, and a controller. The marking engine is constructed to print toner images on an image bearing surface moving in a process direction. The marking engine comprising of a toner development system. The linear array sensor is adjacent the image bearing surface and is extending in a cross-process direction. The linear array sensor is configured to scan the toner image on the image bearing surface. The image analyzer is configured to detect a two-dimensional non-uniformity in the toner image. The controller is configured to control at least one control parameter of the toner development system based on the two-dimensional image quality non-uniformity in the toner image that is detected by the linear array sensor.
