The detected underlying climatic changes are used to provide a barometer function independent of altitude changes. The climatic changes can be tropical or temperate. Various locations can be stored in the altimeter. A plot of the modified pressures can be displayed.

    摘要: A smoke detection device for use in a portable device such as a mobile terminal. The smoke detection device comprises a light emitter and a light detector disposed on different locations on the portable device so that when smoke or an intruding object is presence in the light path of the light emitter outside the device housing, it causes the light emitted by the light emitter to be scattered or reflected. When the light detector senses the scattered or reflected light, it can cause an alarm signal to be produced by the portable device. The emitted light can be in the infrared region so that the detection is independent of the ambient light. Alternatively, the light emitter is operated in a pulsed mode. Additional light emitter and light detectors can be disposed on the portable device for proximity sensing in addition to smoke detection.

    摘要: The invention relates to a detection of a simultaneous occurrence of an event of a predetermined kind at a plurality of electronic devices. At least two devices detect the event and record at their end the time elapsing after this detection. Then, a communication channel is established between the devices. Once the communication channel has been established, an indication of the recorded elapsed times can be exchanged. At least one of the devices compares a recorded elapsed time with an indicated elapsed time received from another device. If both elapsed times are similar to each other, it can be assumed that the event occurred simultaneously at both devices. The invention relates equally to corresponding devices, to a corresponding data transfer system and to corresponding software program products.

The device comprises an electromagnetic interferences detection component detecting electromagnetic interferences in radio-frequency signals received by the mobile radio-frequency enabled device for a communication link. The device further comprises a processing component to determine whether a lightning stroke can be assumed to have occurred in the vicinity of the device due to an electromagnetic interference detected by the electromagnetic interferences detection component, and to cause a notification of a user about an assumed lightning stroke via a user interface. The invention relates equally to a system which comprises such a device and a network element of a communication network, to a corresponding method and to a corresponding software program product.

    摘要: An integrated keymat or keyboard to be used on an electronic device. The integrated keymat includes a plurality of individual emissive keypads each having a legend or symbol provided thereon. The emissive keypad has a light-emitting source and a plurality of electrodes, operatively connected to a power source, to activate the light-emitting source in order to illuminate the keypads, wherein the connection of the electrodes is controllable so that one or more keypads can be illuminated causing the key indicating marks on said one or more keypads to become more visible. Furthermore, the light-emitting source may include a plurality of segments of pixels which are individually addressable so that they can be selectively activated to form an alphanumeric symbol or pattern. Moreover, the integrated keymat further comprises one or more lens-like pads provided on the keypads to make the legend or symbol on the keypads more visible.

    摘要: A portable diagnostic apparatus is brought proximal to a device to be diagnosed. While the device to be diagnosed is operating, a radiofrequency interference signal emitted by the device is received at the portable apparatus and a data representation of it is stored. The data representation is submitted for matching to a diagnostic signal pattern stored in a database of predetermined signal patterns. From the matching is identified and output an indication of a fault in the device to be diagnosed. In one embodiment the submitting is to the database stored in the portable apparatus itself, and in another embodiment the submitting is outputting (data cable, wireless link) the stored data representation to a diagnostic computer such as a personal computer, a peer device, or a remote diagnostic center. The RF interference signal may be one stream and the portable apparatus receives at least a second stream and both streams are used for the matching.

A user can execute one or more touch pad functions by touching the touch pad device. The electronic device includes a key lock function to put the electronic device in a locked state such that only a limited number of selected input functions are available when the electronic device is in the locked state. When touch pad device is touched, a software program is used to determine whether the electronic device is the locked state and whether the touch function is one of the selected input functions in order to carry out or to block the touch pad function.
