Abstract: According to one embodiment, a display device including a first substrate including an organic film, a first recess and a second recess formed in the organic film, and a first projection having the organic film, a second substrate, and a sealing member located in a second area around a first area, and bonding the first substrate and the second substrate together, wherein the first substrate includes a mounting portion, the first recess and the second recess extend in the second area, a first leading end portion of the first recess is separated from a second leading end portion of the second recess, and the first projection, the first recess and the second recess overlap the sealing member.

Abstract: A three-dimensional display device of a parallax barrier system including a liquid crystal display device of an IPS system having a TFT substrate and an opposed substrate as well as a liquid crystal barrier panel of a TN system having a first substrate and a second substrate, in which the opposed substrate of the liquid crystal display device and the second substrate of the liquid crystal barrier panel are opposedly arranged by interposing a polarizer, the TFT substrate includes a pixel configured by a common electrode having a slit above a pixel electrode configured in a planar shape, and includes a first pixel in which an angle made by an alignment axis of the TFT substrate and a direction of a long axis of the slit is θ1 and a second pixel in which an angle made by the alignment axis of the TFT substrate and the direction of the long axis of the slit is θ2, θ1 and θ2 are in a relationship θ1=−θ2, the first pixel and the second pixel are arranged to switch in a first direction, and arranged to switch in a second direction, and the alignment axis of the TFT substrate and an alignment axis of the second substrate of the liquid crystal barrier panel coincide with each other or are orthogonal to each other.

Abstract: A liquid crystal display device includes a thin film transistor (TFT) substrate and a counter substrate that are disposed opposite to each other with a liquid crystal layer in between. The TFT substrate has, an organic passivation film formed covering the TFT, and a pixel electrode and a common electrode formed on the organic passivation film, the organic passivation film having a through-hole to connect the pixel electrode and the TFT. A columnar spacer is formed on the counter substrate to define a distance between the TFT substrate and the counter substrate. A planarization film made of resin is formed in the through-hole. A recess is formed in the through-hole by a surface of the planarization film and a sidewall of the through-hole. A tip end of the columnar spacer exists in the recess.

Abstract: In a plan view, a spacer member is arranged at a position overlapping with a first line portion of a second pixel electrode. The second pixel electrode has a second connecting portion that connects the first line portion and the second line portion arranged next to the first line portion. The second connecting portion of the pixel electrode is arranged between a region where the first line portion of the second pixel electrode overlaps with the spacer member and one end portion of the first line portion of the second pixel electrode.

Abstract: According to one embodiment, a display device includes, a first inorganic insulating layer, a first metal layer, a wiring group, a first organic insulating layer formed above the first inorganic insulating layer, the first metal layer and the wiring group, a second inorganic insulating layer formed above the first organic insulating layer and includes an opening portion overlapping the first metal layer, and a first transparent conductive layer formed above the second inorganic insulating layer, overlapping the opening portion and electrically connected to the first metal layer. The first organic insulating layer includes a groove portion which exposes the first inorganic insulating layer between the opening portion and the wiring group.

Abstract: A display device capable of preventing deterioration in display quality caused by ions in a liquid crystal layer particularly by taking a measure against positive and negative ions is provided. A display device includes: a display region; a peripheral region outside of the display region; a light shielding layer overlapped on the peripheral region; a voltage supply wiring provided in the peripheral region; and first and second electrodes provided in the peripheral region and connected to the voltage supply wiring. The peripheral region includes first, second, third, and fourth regions. The first electrode is provided in any region among the first to fourth regions. The second electrode is provided in a region different from the region where the first electrode is formed among these regions. A polarity of a first voltage supplied to the first electrode is different from that of a second voltage supplied to the second electrode.
