Abstract:
A method, apparatus, and computer instructions for displaying header information in a table. Responsive to a movement of a pointer over a table displayed in a window, a cell in the table over which the pointer is located is identified. A determination of whether a header associated with the cell is out of view in the window in response to identifying the cell. Responsive to the header being out of view, contents of the header are displayed.
Abstract:
A thermal pack that includes a tubular body having a first opening, a second opening, an inner surface and an outer surface. The first opening, the inner surface and the second opening cooperate to define a passage through the tubular body for the limb. The inner surface and the outer surface of the tubular body are defined by a continuous eversion-limitless film of flexible material. A temperature-retaining fluid such as a water-based gel is received between the inner surface and the outer surface. The thermal pack can be positioned at a desired location on a limb by rolling the thermal pack onto the limb.
Abstract:
Telephone information stored in the wireless communication device is automatically updated when a dialed telephone number has changed. Upon receiving an error code in response to making a call, the cell phone automatically determines if the error code indicates that the dialed telephone number has changed to a new telephone number. If so, the cell phone automatically determines the new telephone number from the error code and automatically updates a phone book contained within the cell phone with the new telephone number.
Abstract:
A hand-held laser pointer is disclosed that comprises a laser module that is isolated from unwanted hand tremor motions of the laser pointer housing. A passive inertial stabilizer is utilized for stabilizing the laser module to suppress laser dot jitter associated with hand tremor. To achieve the above object, a collimated laser diode module is mounted on a stage that is suspended by a low-friction gimbal that pivots with respect to the housing of the pointer on two intersecting and mutually perpendicular axes. The inertial stage is coupled to the housing via a spring and damper.
Abstract:
A method, apparatus, and computer instructions for sending content from a first application to a second application. In response to a user input indicating a selection of content for transfer to the second application, the selection of the content is copied to form copied content. The copied content is then automatically sent to the second application without requiring additional user manipulation of the copy content. Additionally, the destination may be another user. In this case, the second application is employed to automatically transfer the copied content to that second user.
Abstract:
A foot massaging sock assembly includes a sock that is wearable on a foot, and the sock has a sole and a top end. A strap is coupled to the sock and the strap is positioned adjacent to the top end. The strap is wrappable around a user's calf when the sock is worn to tighten the sock around the user's calf. A plurality of massagers is each integrated into the sock and each of the massagers is positioned on the sol. Thus, each of the massagers engages a sole of the foot when the sock is worn and each of the massagers massages the sole of the foot when the sock is worn. A power cord is coupled to and extends away from the sock and the power cord is electrically coupled to each of the massagers. Moreover, the power cord is pluggable into a power source comprising a female electrical outlet.
Abstract:
A lighting control system includes a plurality of luminaires each having a selectively powerable first light source and a selectively powerable second light source. The luminaires are powerable and controllable by a common AC power source. A signal receiving controller of each of the luminaires is electrically connected to the first light source and the second light source and selectively causes power to be routed to either the first light source or the second light source dependent on a control signal sent via the AC power source.
Abstract:
A method for providing a service function in a telecommunications network is described. The method comprises receiving a message (32) addressed to an addressee subscriber (20) of the telecommunications network. The received message may be an MMS message or an SMS message in a mobile terminated (MT) format and/or may come from a subscriber of a different network. The method further comprises determining whether the body of the received message conforms to a predefined criterion, and, if so, selectively providing the service function. In one example the predefined criterion is a specific syntax for the body of the received message. The processing function may comprise sending a response message to the sender of the received message providing information previously specified by the addressee subscriber. Thus a sending user can obtain the information previously specified by the addressee subscriber by simply sending him a message conforming to the predefined criterion. The received message might not be forwarded on to the addressee subscriber so that he is not disturbed when messages are received to request the relevant information.
Abstract:
A system and method for optimizing satellite network utilization is disclosed. The method includes delivering a message to a communication device in the satellite network where a confirmation is received from a satellite network gateway that a message is intended for the communication device, scheduling a notification for the communication device at a scheduled time, and at the scheduled time, instructing the satellite network gateway to send the notification to the communication device. The notification causes the communication device to request the message from the network gateway upon receipt of the notification by the communication device. Scheduling may be coordinated within an alert window time period of the communication device when it is listening for notifications. The start time of the alert window time period may be provided by an application gateway, that along with the communication device, receive network time data to remain synchronized.
Abstract:
A home location register (HLR) in a mobile telecommunications network is programmed to forward a selected subset of routing information request messages (SRI SM) to a message router (SMS Router), instead of the home location register providing the usual response. The message router then generates a modified response to the routing information request message, in consequence of the modified response receives the mobile terminated text message associated with the routing information request message, derives the destination MSISDN requested by the message sender associated with the mobile terminated text message, and queries the home location register to determine delivery information relating to the intended destination of the text message, such as a diverted destination.
