Abstract:
A method for unlocking a locked computing device includes obtaining biometric information utilizing the computing device, determining whether the biometric information meets a predetermined requirement, unlocking the computing device when the biometric information obtained meets the predetermined requirement, and maintaining a locked status of the computing device when the biometric information does not meet the predetermined requirement. A computing device includes a sensor utilized for obtaining biometric information, wherein the computing device is for determining whether the biometric information meets a predetermined requirement, for unlocking the computing device when the biometric information obtained meets the predetermined requirement, and for maintaining a locked status of the computing device when the biometric information does not meet the predetermined requirement.
Abstract:
An electronic device and a keypad structure thereof are disclosed. The keypad structure includes a first key group, a second key group and a third key group. The second key group is disposed on the left side of the first key group, and the third key group is disposed on the right side of the first key group. Each key area of the second key group is smaller than that of the first key group, and each key area of the third key group is also smaller than that of the first key group.
Abstract:
An incoming-call management method of mobile telecommunication devices is provided. The method includes offering options for telephone holder and caller, and controls the procedure according to the telephone holder's setting and caller's decisions.
Abstract:
A method, an apparatus, and a recording medium for selecting a location are provided. The present method uses a communication module to position a mobile device so as to get a first location of the mobile device. Then, an electronic map of a range around the first location is displayed. A second location selected on the electronic map by a user is received and used as location information. Accordingly, the user can select precise location of himself/herself in an indoor place and share the location information to remote contacts.
Abstract:
Electronic devices with preselected operational characteristics and associated methods are disclosed. The electronic devices can include a touch sensing component that senses a touch from an input mechanism and an input circuitry that measures at least one parameter of the touch from the touch sensing component. The electronic devices can also include a processor that performs an analysis of the measured at least one parameter of the detected touch and implements preselected operational characteristics of the electronic device based on the performed analysis.
Abstract:
In a method of switching a locked state of an electronic device with a user-verifying function, a biologic feature data from a user is captured while receiving an input from the user for an operation when the electronic device is in a locked state. Whether the biologic feature data conforms to a reference biologic feature data is then determined. If it is determined that the biologic feature data conforms to the reference biologic feature data, the electronic device is switched from the locked state into a non-locked state and directly controls the electronic device to perform the operation according to the input when the biologic feature data is determined conforming to the reference biologic feature data.
Abstract:
A method and system for managing images and associated geographic location data in a mobile device generates images using an integrated camera. After generating an image, the system determines a geographic location associated with the image. The system then stores the image, the associated geographic location data, and a record of the association in the mobile device's storage component. The system associates supplemental information, such as telephone number, category, and street address, with the image. The system provides one or more display modes for displaying the image and the associated information, including a list mode for displaying multiple images and portions of the associated data and a detail mode for displaying a selected image and the full set of associated data. The system may also provide a map display mode for displaying locations associated with one or more images on a map of a geographical area.
Abstract:
A communication device includes a first casing, a second casing, a hinge, a keyboard and an antenna. The hinge is connected to the first casing and the second casing, so that the first casing is capable of rotating with respect to the second casing. The keyboard for inputting data is disposed at the second casing. The keyboard can be a QWERTY keyboard, a AZERTY keyboard, a QWERTZ keyboard or a DVORAK keyboard. The antenna for sending or receiving a communication signal is disposed in the first casing or the second casing.
Abstract:
A system for managing and filtering incoming messages to a mobile device is configured to receive incoming messages using multiple formats, such as e-mail, Short Messaging System (SMS) messages, Multimedia Message System (MMS) messages, or other electronic messaging formats. One or more message filters are used to consolidate and display high importance messages by the device in a single location. The message filters may be configured to select incoming messages based on factors such as the identity of the sender and the destination account. After receiving a new message, the system compares characteristics of the incoming message to the key characteristics defined by one or more of the filters. If an incoming message matches one of the filters, the system adds the matching message to a list of high importance messages. The system provides a separate user interface to display the high importance messages.
Abstract:
Search methods. A string is first received. The string is divided to generate at least one string fragment set, comprising of at least a first and a second fragments. A record conforming to the string fragment set is searched for and retrieved. A first data block of the record may include or begin with the first fragment, and a second block may include or begin with the second fragment. The first block may include or begin with the second fragment, and the second block may include or begin with the first fragment.
