A system and method for preventing unwanted communications. A communication is received from a sending party. Input indicating the communication is to be filtered is received. Filtering information is extracted from the communication. The filtering information is distributed to multiple telecommunications platforms. The communication and future communications are blocked across the multiple telecommunications platforms utilizing the filtering information.
Abstract:
A system, method, and apparatus for processing a purchase transaction includes receiving a purchase request associated with an item of purchase. The purchase request includes sub-account information associated with a sub-account of a credit account. The method further includes associating at least one approved purchase category with the sub-account information, and determining a purchase category of the item. If the purchase category of the item is not in an approved purchase category, the method further includes sending a notification message to an account holder associated with the credit account. Embodiments further include denying purchase of the item if the purchase category is not in an approved purchase category, and authorizing purchase of the item if the purchase category is in an approved purchase category.

Embodiments of the disclosed invention include a system and a method for providing a call forward indicator to enable a called party to identify a forwarded call. In one embodiment, the method includes receiving calling information for placing a telephone call. The method determines from the calling information whether the telephone call is a forwarded call. The method modifies a caller identification of a calling party associated with the telephone call to include a call forward indicator in response to determining that the telephone call is a forwarded call. The method transmits the caller identification having the call forward indicator to a forwarded communication device associated with the called party.

A telecommunications device and method for downloading content using Time Division Multiplexing (TDM) includes receiving a request for content to be downloaded using TDM. The content may be communicated in response to receiving the content request. In response to receiving a call request for use of a telephone line, a download status of the telephone line may be determined. If the download status of the telephone line is indicative of content being downloaded, the content may be suspended from being communicated to enable a call associated with the call request to be connected with the telephone line. Otherwise, if the download status of the telephone line is not indicative of content being downloaded, a call associated with the call request may be connected with the telephone line.

A system and method for forwarding a telephone call includes routing a telephone call from a calling party to a first telephone of a called party. A determination may be made that the telephone call was not answered by the called party. A determination may be made as to whether the telephone call is to be forwarded to an unrelated second telephone within a predetermined distance of the first telephone. Geographic coordinates of the first telephone may be determined. A determination of geographic coordinates of at least one second telephone may be made. A determination as to whether the at least one unrelated second telephone is within the predetermined distance of the first telephone. An unrelated second telephone determined to be within the predetermined distance of the first telephone may be selected. The telephone call may be forwarded to the selected unrelated second telephone.

A system and method for providing call forwarding. Telephone information of one or more telephones assigned to a user may be stored, where the telephone information may include location coordinates (e.g., GPS coordinates). Telephone information, including location coordinates, of one or more telephones assigned to an organization of which the user is associated may be stored. The organization may be an employer of the user, for example. If call forwarding is enabled by the user, then a call to a wireless device of the user may cause a determination as to whether the wireless device is within a predetermined range of a telephone assigned to either the user or organization may be made. A distinctive ring may be generated to notify the user that a call forwarding call is being received.

A method for on-demand recording of a communication session according to one embodiment includes establishing a communication session between a first communication device and a second communication device. The method further includes receiving a request to initiate recording of the communication session at a network server in response to a user input. The method still further includes recording the communication session by the network server in response to receiving the recording request, and storing the recorded communication session in a storage device associated with the network server.
