摘要: A fire evacuation guidance system includes a pair of dissimilarly colored laser beams generated by at least one laser emitting device. The dissimilarly colored laser beams are generated substantially parallel to hallways of a (5) structure and subsequently reflected, where required, to direct occupants to a shortest exit route in the event of a fire emergency. That is, a first laser beam of one color is generated substantially parallel to one side or a hallway while a second laser beam of a second color different from the first color is generated substantially parallel to the opposite side of the hallway. So long as an occupant (10) of the structure positions himself or herself between the two laser beams and keeps the laser beam of the first color on his or her right hand side, the occupant will be directed to the closest exit in the event of a fire emergency.

摘要: A method of repairing a leaking coupling between an air conditioning cooling coil and its associated expansion valve using a split clamp-on coupling nut. The nut consists of two mirror-image halves, the two halves being joined together by a pair of screws. The joined together halves provide a passageway sized and partially threaded to accommodate the flanged end of the cooling coil pipe and the threaded end of the expansion valve pipe when these two pipes are aligned along a common axis and the end of the expansion valve pipe abuts against the flange of the cooling coil pipe.

摘要: A system and a method for remotely storing information from portable electronics using a multi-point wireless link. The method and system involves a Bluetooth-enabled camera that communicates to a 3G cellular telephone via a Bluetooth wireless link, the telephone then uses the 3G wireless link to connect to a remote storage device via the Internet. Using this concept, the internal memory of the portable device is used as a buffer memory without needing to be in the vicinity of a computer because the cellular telephone can act as a go between from the portable device to the storage space via the Internet.

摘要: One non-limiting embodiment of an apparatus for forming an alloy powder or preform includes a melting assembly, an atomizing assembly, and a field generating assembly, and a collector. The melting assembly produces at least one of a stream of a molten alloy and a series of droplets of a molten alloy, and may be substantially free from ceramic in regions contacted by the molten alloy. The atomizing assembly generates electrons and impinges the electrons on molten alloy from the melting assembly, thereby producing molten alloy particles. The field generating assembly produces at least one of an electrostatic field and an electromagnetic field between the atomizing assembly and the collector. The molten alloy particles interact with the at least one field, which influences at least one of the acceleration, speed, and direction of the molten alloy particles. Related methods also are disclosed.
