Abstract: The invention relates to a method for constructing an elevator comprising installing comprising installing an elevator car, a counterweight, one or more vertically oriented guide rail lines, a hoisting machine in a first position, and a first hoisting roping for being moved by the hoisting machine, said installing further comprising connecting the first hoisting roping to the elevator car and counterweight; and thereafter transporting passengers and/or goods with the elevator car vertically in the hoistway while the hoisting machine is in said first position; and thereafter stopping said transporting; and thereafter removing said hoisting machine from said first position and the first roping from the hoistway, said removing comprising disconnecting the first hoisting roping from the elevator car and counterweight; wherein the method further comprises installing a hoisting machine in a second position which is higher than the first position, and a second roping for being moved by the hoisting machine, said installing comprising, connecting the second hoisting roping to the elevator car and counterweight; and thereafter transporting passengers and/or goods with the elevator car vertically in the hoistway while the hoisting machine is in said second position, said transporting comprising moving the elevator car with the hoisting machine and the second hoisting roping.

Abstract: The installation platform comprises two decks and a support frame comprising horizontal support beams supporting a respective deck and vertical support beams. The installation platform has a width in a first horizontal direction between the guide rails, a depth in a second horizontal direction perpendicular to the first horizontal direction. The installation platform is guided movably via guide means on the guide rails. At least one of the width and the depth of the installation is adjustable in order to adjust the horizontal dimensions of the installation platform according to the horizontal dimensions of the shaft.

Abstract: An elevator shaft element, an elevator arrangement and a method of a construction time use elevator. Abstract: A method for constructing an elevator includes providing a hoisting machine unit, a guide rail line, an elevator car, a counterweight, and a hoisting roping; using the elevator car for transporting passengers and/or goods while the hoisting machine unit is in a first position; installing one or more guide rail sections into the guide rail line above a guide rail section of the hoisting machine unit; removing the hoisting machine unit from the first position; installing a guide rail section into the guide rail line in place from where the guide rail section of the hoisting machine unit was removed; hoisting the hoisting machine unit; mounting the hoisting machine unit to a second position which is higher than the first position; and using the elevator car for transporting passengers and/or goods while the hoisting machine unit is in the second position. An elevator arrangement is described for implementing the method.

Abstract: The self-climbing installation platform comprises two decks positioned upon each other. Lifting means move the two decks along the guide rails in relation to each other. At least one power source provides power to the lifting means. The invention also relates to an arrangement for managing flow of people and goods within a building under construction, which arrangement implements the method.

During the elevator installation in the bottom section the hoisting point is configured to be mounted to a first protection deck, and the working platform guided on the car guide rails is configured to be used as an installation platform, and after each section elevator installation, the car is during construction time use configured to be moved by the elevator hoisting machine suspending the car and the counterweight together with the suspension roping, and during construction time use of the car, the installation platform is configured to be used as installation platform for an above section installation. Abstract: The invention relates to a method of constructing an elevator comprising providing an elevator car in a hoistway, said elevator car comprising a cabin frame, and a temporary pulley beam detachably mounted on the cabin frame; mounting a hoisting machine in a first position which first position is at a first vertical level in the hoistway; suspending (first suspending) the elevator car with a hoisting roping from the hoisting machine via said temporary pulley beam; moving the elevator car in the hoistway with the hoisting machine while it is in said first position and suspended by the roping via said temporary pulley beam; mounting a hoisting machine in a second position which second position is at a second higher vertical level inside a machine room located above the hoistway; removing the temporary pulley beam from the elevator car, comprising detaching the temporary pulley beam from the cabin frame; suspending the car with a hoisting roping from the hoisting machine mounted in said second position via said cabin frame without said temporary pulley beam; moving the elevator car in the hoistway with the hoisting machine while it is in said second position and the car is suspended via said cabin frame without said temporary pulley beam. The invention also relates to an elevator arrangement for implementing the method.
