Abstract: A first hardware processor included in a server determines one or more candidate apparatuses, which are candidates for being information processing apparatuses that execute a distribution process, based on performance of hardware resources, determines that an apparatus, which responds to an inquiry about whether the distribution process is executable, among the one or more candidate apparatuses is a proxy apparatus, and requests the proxy apparatus to execute the distribution process, and a second hardware processor included in each of a plurality of information processing apparatuses, in response to an inquiry about whether the distribution process is executable from the server, determines whether the distribution process is executable based on a margin of the hardware resources, and in the case where it is determined that the distribution process is executable, responds to the inquiry about whether the distribution process is executable.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus capable of exchanging various types of information with at least one image forming apparatus includes a nonvolatile storage unit capable of higher-speed access processing than a hard disk drive of the image forming apparatus and capable of storing amount-of-use information regarding an amount of use of the image forming apparatus by each user, and a management unit configured to manage usage of the image forming apparatus by a user, by using the amount-of-use information stored in the storage unit. On a predetermined condition, the management unit shifts specific amount-of-use information to a shift destination device that is another image forming apparatus different from the image forming apparatus, the specific amount-of-use information being amount-of-use information about a specific user out of a plurality of pieces of amount-of-use information about each of a plurality of users stored in the storage unit.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a switching operation unit switching a display mode of a setting screen between first and second display modes. A first display screen in a first display mode includes an icon display area displaying icons arranged in a predetermined direction and corresponding to function buttons for setting each function, and a first function button display area displaying some of the function buttons corresponding to some of the icons specified by a range specification unit. The function buttons are classified into groups according to their function attribute.
