An image forming apparatus includes an import unit configured to import import data from a storage apparatus in which the import data is stored, a job accepting unit configured to accept a job to be executed by the image forming apparatus, a determination unit configured to determine a type of job-related information that is specific information required to execute the job among information included in the import data, an acquisition unit configured to acquire the job-related information of the type determined by the determination unit from the storage apparatus before completion of import processing performed by the import unit, and a job execution unit configured to execute the job, using the job-related information acquired by the acquisition unit.

An image forming apparatus displays part of function keys for menu items of basic functions so as to be stopped at a predetermined stop position. The image forming apparatus switches the function keys for menu items of basic functions to be displayed, by displaying another part of function keys for menu items of basic functions so as to be stopped at a predetermined stop position. When part of function keys for menu items of advanced functions are displayed so as to be arranged in a predetermined direction, the image forming apparatus accepts scroll operation and then moves the menu items of advanced functions by a distance decided based on the speed of the scroll operation.

A screen display system includes a portable terminal apparatus and an image processing apparatus connectable with each other. The portable terminal apparatus includes a transmitter that transmits a screen image and application information to the image processing apparatus. The image processing apparatus includes: a receiver that receives the screen image and the application information; a first judgment portion that judges whether or not the application supports both portrait and landscape orientations with reference to the application information; a display having a portrait or landscape display screen; and a display control processor that makes the display to display the screen image such that at least one part of the screen image is enlarged in a direction of the length of the screen image, if the application supports either portrait or landscape orientation and the orientation supported by the application does not match the orientation of the display screen of the display.
