摘要: It is an object of the present invention to provide an apparatus and a method for forming an alignment layer to align the orientation direction of liquid crystals. In an apparatus 10 for forming an alignment layer according to the present invention, the shape of an edge 32a of a mask 12 for forming a slit 14 is determined by integrating the orientation direction of liquid crystals. The liquid crystals can be uniformly oriented by the edge 32a having such shape. This leads to the manufacturing of a liquid crystal display free from irregularity in brightness and color.

摘要: An object of the present invention is to provide an apparatus and method for ensuring a uniform orientation of liquid crystal molecules of an alignment layer by irradiation with ion beams. An apparatus of the present invention comprises a grid 11a having a plurality of ion ejection holes 30 of various sizes. The size of the ion ejection hole 30 varies depending on an ion density. The size of the ion ejection hole 30 increases with decrease in the ion density.

摘要: A steering wheel assembly with a centralized control system including terminal component such as an input and output member disposed in a center pad of the steering wheel. In this assembly; the terminal component and a computer for controlling said terminal component are disposed in a center pad of the steering wheel, the terminal component being mounted to the center pad in a selectively exchangeable manner. The terminal component may be formed as an exchangable cassette unit. The terminal component is also provided with a variety of switches and/or accessory equipment to thereby permit the same to be readily replaced with another cassette unit in accordance with driver's demands. Therefore, the improved steering wheel assembly of this invention is convenient and it can promptly and easily respond to the user's demands.
