摘要: A connector in which the longitudinal displacement of connection terminals is positively prevented even if electric wires are pulled rearwardly by an external force, so that the fitting property of the connector to a partner connector can be improved. In the connector according to the present invention, a plurality of solderless terminals (1) are chained to a carrier having feed holes (11), with each of the terminals having an electric-wire solderless contact portion (5) provided with a slot (4) for solderlessly connecting an electric wire. The terminals are severed from the carrier in such a manner that portions of feed holes (11) of the carrier remain in the rear end portions of the solderless terminals (1). Additionally, fitting portions (14) to be fitted into the feed holes (11) are formed on the bottom walls of a terminal holder (2) in which the terminals are received. Since the feed holes (11) are provided in the rear end portions of the solderless terminals (1), the strength of the solderless terminals (1) is not reduced. Furthermore, since the fitting portions (14) are provided so as to project from the bottom walls (12) of the terminal holder (2), the strength of the bottom walls (12) is likewise not reduced.

摘要: To improve the insertion workability of a terminal part (29) into a connector housing (25), a reverse insertion preventing connector comprises: a terminal part (29) and a connector housing (25). The connector housing (25) is formed with a flexible engage arm (31) having an arm portion (37) extending from an inner wall (33) thereof, an engage step portion (43) engaged with the terminal part (29) when the terminal part has been inserted into the connector housing (25) in a normal direction, and an arm end projection portion (47) engaged with the terminal part (29) when the terminal part is being inserted into the connector housing (25) in a reverse direction. In particular, the connector housing (25) is further formed with at least one terminal insertion guide slope portion (51) extending from the inner wall (33) thereof to such a position as to be roughly flush with the arm end projection portion (47) beside the flexible engage arm (31) so as to guide the terminal part (29) as it is inserted into the connector housing (25).

摘要: One connector housing includes a resilient locking arm having a through-hole provided at its tip, a pair of detection terminals attached to said resilient locking arm and opposed to the through-hole, a first spring portion provided on the side of a warping space of the resilient locking arm and inserted between the resilient locking arm and the pair of detection terminals, the first spring portion having a protrusion to be engaged in said through-hole so as to force the locking arm in an anti-warping direction, and a second spring portion always forcing said resilient locking arm in the anti-warping direction. Another connector housing includes an engagement protrusion which is to be engaged in the through-hole to push the protrusion, thereby warping the first spring portion in an anti-forcing direction to be brought into contact with the pair of detection terminals. Thus, connector fitting of one and another connector housings can be surely detected electrically. The fitting detection connector can have a buffer spring member which is arranged between the contact portion and intrusion protrusion of the first spring portion.

摘要: A connector including a separate terminal retainer for retaining terminals in a connector housing where the retainer can be disengaged from the connector housing without the use of external jigs. The connector includes the connector housing having a plurality of terminal accommodating chambers, and the terminal retainer adapted to be connected to a rear portion of the connector housing in a two-step manner, i.e. a provisional engagement condition and a complete engagement condition, and movable relative to the connector housing. The terminal retainer has flexible retaining pieces and flexible support pieces. In the complete engagement condition, the flexible retaining pieces are engaged with respective metal terminals by their own flexibility, and the flexible support pieces are guided and elastically bent by the drive surfaces of the connector housing to be engaged with respective metal terminals. When the terminal retainer is moved backward from the complete engagement condition beyond the provisional engagement condition, the flexible retaining pieces ride onto projections of the connector housing to be displaced out of the locus of movement of the metal terminals being removed. The metal terminal can be easily removed from the connector housing without using any jigs.

摘要: There is provided a connector fitting apparatus which can fit a female connector and a male connector to each other by taking advantage of a cam thrust force generated by swinging a lever member. In the fitting apparatus, a cover 23 is used as the lever member, and is formed with an opening 41 so as to be swingable to an electric wire withdrawal side of a female connector 25. When the cover is swung in the above manner, the electric wire withdrawal side is protected by the cover 23, and then, accompanying with the swing of the cover 23, an electric wire 29 is bent and oriented to a wiring direction, thus being led to the outside from the opening 41.

摘要: A method for shifting a terminal which has been incompletely inserted into a terminal accommodating chamber of a connector housing of a connector for use in a wiring harness for motor vehicles to completely insert the terminal by the use of an inserted position correcting jig is provided. The method includes inserting a front end portion of the inserted terminal position correcting jig into an opening formed in a peripheral wall extending from a rear portion of the connector housing. The opening functions as a pivot center and has a correcting operation checking member therein to thereby shift the jig toward the housing pivoting on the opening. The jig is thus fitted with the rear end portion of the terminal which is still in an incompletely inserted state so as to shift the terminal to a completely inserted position and securely lock the terminal. Since the correcting operation checking member formed in the opening is removed when the front end portion of the jig is inserted, whether or not the correcting operation is perfectly done can be checked from outside by a removal or deformation of the correcting operation checking member.

摘要: A connection terminal is retained by a retaining lance which is a primary retaining member formed in a terminal receiving chamber. In addition, in a terminal insertion port at the rear end of the terminal receiving chamber, a rear holder having retaining projections provided on the side walls and a U-shaped wire holding portion is provided as a secondary retaining member. Retaining holes engageable with the retaining projections are provided on side walls of the terminal receiving chamber. A displacement preventing member having a width which is substantially equal to a width of a U-shaped opening of the wire holding portion is extended rearward at the rear end of an upper circumferential wall of the terminal receiving chamber. This displacement preventing member is inserted into the wire holding portion under the condition where the rear holder is locked. Accordingly, the rear holder is held between the side walls of the terminal receiving chamber and the displacement preventing member so that the secondary retaining member is surely prevented from being released from retaining.

The engagement hood portion is further formed with a pair of hood cutout portions (53, 55). The female connector housing is further formed with a pair of flexible lock arms (57, 59), each having a lock claw (61, 63) engageable with an edge of the opening of the panel at a free end thereof, for locking the female connector with the panel. When locked with the panel opening, the lock claws are kept pinched between the engaged male connector and the edge of the panel opening within the hood cutout portions formed in the engagement hood portions, respectively.

摘要: Disclosed is a hinge connecting mechanism for connecting a connector housing to a lid in a hinged fashion via a hinge portion integrally molded with the connector housing with a small thickness. The hinge connecting mechanism assures that a malfunction does not arise where the hinge portion is undesirably broken or torn away from the container as the lid is repeatedly opened and closed. A plate member connected to a connector housing in a hinged fashion includes a hinge extension having the same width as that of a hinge portion, while extending in continuation from the hinge portion. The hinge extension is formed on a surface of the plate member adapted to face an upper wall of the connector housing when the plate member is closed.

摘要: A connector housing assembly used for connection in an electrical wiring and having a pair of connector housings capable of being fitted to each other. A locking arm is provided on one of the pair of connector housings, while a lock hook capable of receiving the locking arm is provided on the other connector housing. The locking arm extends in the direction of fitting of the connector housings and forms a free end portion at its fitting end. The locking arm has an engagement projection and an operating lever extending in the direction opposite to the direction toward the free end. To detach the connector housings from each other, the operating lever is moved upward to be rotated on a fulcrum so as to downwardly move the free end portion of the locking arm, thereby unlocking the locking arm. Thus, a locking arm having an operating lever is provided to form a lock mechanism improved in handling, which enables a pair of connector housings to be easily fitted to or detached from each other.
