    Abstract: An assembly head is used for wrapping a wire harness in an automated manner by means of a winding module. The module has a winding head which rotates about an axis of rotation and, according to a first aspect, has a total of three pressing elements with spring-mounted rollers, which, during the taping process, press a tape against the wire harness and guide the tape in a centering manner. According to a second aspect, a belt drive having a toothed belt is provided for driving the winding head. The toothed belt engages on the circumferential side only in one portion extending over a small angular range.

    Abstract: In a process for manufacturing an electric cable connection assembly 1 for connecting solar panels, a circumferential surface layer 6 of the respective cable sheath is partially removed by exposure to light at end portions of at least two individual cables which are connected to a respective exposed conductor end portion 5. After forming an electrically conductive connection between the cables 2, the cables 2 are introduced into the cavity 18 of an injection molding tool 15 and a heated, plastically deformable plastic granulate consisting of the same material as the cable sheath is injected into the cavity 18. The plastic material crosslinks homogeneously. An insulating sheath formed in this way is characterized by improved moisture protection and mechanical resistance.

    Abstract: The present disclosure provides an insulation withstand voltage detection method and detection device for a wiring harness, and an automobile wiring harness assembly line. The insulation withstand voltage detection method for the wiring harness includes: step S10: placing a to-be-detected wiring harness in an enclosed cavity, in which a conductive electrode plate is disposed in the enclosed cavity, and the to-be-detected wiring harness has one end insulated and enclosed, and the other end connected to a power supply; step S20: reducing air pressure in the enclosed cavity; step S30: providing a test voltage by the power supply; and step S40: detecting a voltage of the to-be-detected wiring harness, and/or detecting a leakage current of the to-be-detected wiring harness. Through the present disclosure, it alleviates the technical problem in the prior art that the dielectric insulation detection of a high-voltage wiring harness cannot realize the in-line detection of finished products.

    Abstract: A robotic system for laying out a specified wiring harness. A robotic arm is configured to arrange a plurality of wire segments along the harness support surface. A system controller is configured to direct the robotic arm to arrange each of the plurality of wire segments on the harness support surface along a specified wire route. A preparation device can label one or both ends of each wire segment as they are being laid out on the support surface. The labeler can automatically apply adhesive labels as flags at selected locations along the length of the wire segment. In a method of making a wiring harness, the robotic arm positions pins on a harness support surface to define wire routes and then arranges at least one wire segment on the harness support surface along each of the wire routes.

    Abstract: A wiring harness assembly cell includes an automation zone housing a robot for performing automated assembly operations on a series of wiring harness assembly boards. A plurality of wiring harness assembly stations is located about the automation zone, each including one or more wiring harness assembly boards holding the wiring harnesses. Manual operator zones are located outside the automation zone that are associated with the wiring harness assembly stations. The wiring harness assembly stations are reconfigurable between a first configuration in which a first wiring harness assembly board faces the manual operator zone such that it is accessible to a manual operator, and a second configuration in which it faces the automation zone such that it is accessible to the robot. The robot is moved within the automation zone between a plurality of assembly locations where it accesses and operates on the respectively the plurality of wiring harness assembly stations.
