Abstract:
A mascara composition includes a film-forming polymer portion. The film-forming polymer portion is stabilized in a vehicle that includes water. The film-forming polymer portion includes a high molecular weight vinylpyrrolidone homopolymer and an acrylic polymer having a glass transition temperature of 65° C. or more. The mascara composition includes at least about 10 percent by weight of the vinylpyrrolidone homopolymer and is substantially free of wax. Methods of applying makeup to the eyelashes are also provided.
Abstract:
The present invention generally relates to emulsions including a water-in-oil emulsion containing an oil-soluble polar modified polymer and polylysine.
Abstract:
A composition for removing nail polish includes a propylene glycol methyl ether; and a C2-C3 monoalcohol. The C2-C3 monoalcohol and the propylene glycol methyl ether are present in a C2-C3 monoalcohol to propylene glycol methyl ether ratio by weight from about 1:1 to about 20:1. Methods for removing nail polish are also provided.
Abstract:
An apparatus is provided that stabilizes an applicator in response to the motion caused by a user, comprising: a receiver configured to be coupled with a cosmetic applicator; at least one sensor configured to detect a movement caused by a user; circuitry configured to determine a compensation movement to offset the detected movement; and at least one motion generation device embedded in the receiver configured to control a motion of the cosmetic applicator according to the determined compensation movement.
Abstract:
A system is provided for evaluating a curl of at least one eyelash sample that includes a plurality of fibers, comprising: a platform configured to receive a sample of the eyelash sample; an image capturing device configured to capture profile image of the eyelash ample; and a processing system configured to receive the profile image and evaluate at least one feature related to a curl of one or more of the fibers of at least one eyelash sample.
Abstract:
A mascara composition including an olefin/acrylate grafted polymer and a styrene/acrylates copolymer. Preferably, the ratio of the weight amount of the olefin/acrylate grafted polymer to the weight amount of the styrene/acrylates copolymer is from about 1:3 to about 4:1.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a cosmetic composition comprising a latex film forming polymer, a hyperbranched functional polymer, an organic solvent and water. The compositions of the present invention may optionally contain at least one colorant. The invention also relates to a method for making up and/or enhancing the appearance of a keratinous substrate, in particular lashes, by applying these compositions to the keratinous substrate.
