    摘要: An apparatus and method for short multipath mitigation. In one aspect the method comprises subtracting a first stronger path from a correlation function to obtain a first residual signal, wherein one component of the first residual signal is a weaker path; applying reconstruction on the first residual signal to obtain a first reconstructed weaker path; subtracting the first reconstructed weaker path from the correlation function to obtain a second residual signal; and applying reconstruction on the second residual signal to obtain a second stronger path. In one aspect, the apparatus includes an antenna for receiving a composite receive RF signal, a receiver front-end for converting the composite receive RF signal into a composite receive digital signal; and a processor for performing signal correlation on the composite receive digital signal to obtain a correlation function and for processing the correlation function to obtain a desired signal. In one aspect, the short multipath is identified by computing a Left Edge Height Ratio Indicator (LEHRI).

    摘要: Demodulator architectures for processing a received signal in a wireless communications system. The demodulator includes a number of correlators coupled to a combiner. Each correlator typically receives and despreads input samples (which are generated from the received signal) with a respective despreading sequence to provide despread samples. Each correlator then decovers the despread samples to provide decovered “half-symbols” and further demodulates the decovered half-symbols with pilot estimates to generate correlated symbols. The decovering is performed with a Walsh symbol having a length (T) that is half the length (2T) of a Walsh symbol used to cover the data symbols in the transmitted signal. The combiner selectively combines correlated symbols from the assigned correlators to provide demodulated symbols. One or more correlators can be assigned to process one or more instances of each transmitted signal. The pilot estimates used within each assigned correlator to demodulate the decovered half-symbols are generated based on the signal instance being processed by that correlator.

    摘要: In a radio frequency (RF) receiver, a receiver RF chain is tuned to a first (e.g., global positioning system (GPS)) channel to permit receipt of a first (e.g., GPS) signal over the first (e.g., GPS) channel on the receiver RF chain during a first time duration. The receiver RF chain is tuned to a second (e.g., cellular page) channel to permit receipt of a second (e.g., cellular page) signal over the second (e.g., cellular page) channel on the receiver RF chain during a second time duration, following the first time duration. The first (e.g., GPS) signal is processed during the first time duration and the second time duration, without any apparent interruption of the first (e.g., GPS) signal during the second time duration. The processing, for example, treats the actual interruption as a temporary, short term fade of the first (e.g., GPS) signal during the second time duration, or provides a bridge signal (e.g., an estimated GPS signal on the receiver RF chain or an actual GPS signal received on another receiver RF chain) during the second time duration.

    摘要: A receiver according to one embodiment includes a frequency control unit configured to receive a stream of samples including a plurality of received instances of a transmitted signal. The frequency control unit is configured to output a first correction signal (e.g. indicating a rotation) that is based on more than one of the received instances and a second correction signal (e.g. to control an oscillator) that is also based on more than one of the received instances. In some embodiments, a controlled oscillator is used to receive and/or transmit another signal, such as a signal received from a GPS space vehicle. In other embodiments, the received instances are from a GPS signal. In further embodiments, a fixed-frequency oscillator is used, and the second correction signal is used to receive and/or transmit another signal, such as a GPS signal.
