摘要: A dynamic HOL allocation module that supports, dynamically configurable classes of service, virtual output queues that support dynamically configurable HOL blocking factors, and dynamically configurable queue assignment schemes, is described. A user may define classes of service assigned to a source port within a network switch and may configure each class of service with a set of virtual output queues, or queue set. Each queue set may be configured to include a user configured number of virtual output queues based on an HOL blocking factor, e.g., 1:1, 1:24, etc., selected by the user for the class of service. Further, the assignment scheme used to assign packets received on a source port to a class of service and the assignment scheme used to assign packets assigned to a class of service to a virtual output queue may be dynamically configurable based on day, day/time, traffic load, alarm events and/or other factors.

摘要: A system and a method for facilitating an election. A database containing voter registration information is downloaded from a central computer to a portable computer that is accessible at a polling station. The database can be searched by a proctor or official at the polling station to determine whether a prospective voter is eligible to vote at the polling station. The name or name and date of birth of the prospective voter is entered into a search field of the portable computer and the database is searched. If and when a matching record is found, additional information is displayed on a second screen and the proctor or official can make a determination whether the prospective voter is eligible to vote at the polling place.

摘要: A fuel-fired fluid heating appliance, such as a gas-fired boiler (FIG. 1) is provided for heating a fluid such as water circulating in a central heating system. The boiler includes a flue 4 for discharging the combustion products, e.g. exhaust gas, to atmosphere by way of a heat exchanger 8 incorporated within a portion 6 of the flue 4 external of the boiler housing 1. The heat exchanger 8 is provided with an inlet 16 to receive water from a return flow pipe 36 and an outlet 17 to discharge the water to the inlet 35 of the boiler primary heat exchanger 3. The heat exchanger 8 (FIG. 2) is provided with a number of ducts 18 along which the exhaust gas travels to transfer its heat to the water circulating within compartments 29 to 33 within the heat exchanger housing 15. The external portion 6 of the flue 4 is disposed at an angle of 20.degree. downwardly to the horizontal so that any exhaust gas condensing in the heat exchanger 8 flows down the flue base 9 to a discharge spout 10 and collector weir 11. In an alternative arrangement (FIG. 4), the condensate outlet 45 is located at the base of the flue 40 within the boiler, the outlet 45 terminating outside the boiler housing 1. In this case that portion 42 of the flue external of the boiler and incorporating the heat exchanger slopes upwardly at an angle of 20.degree. to the horizontal.

摘要: A system and method for accounting for delay to accurately schedule a data packet for transmission between communicating devices. According to an aspect of the invention, a data packet to be scheduled is identified and the packet modified time, reflecting an estimation of the transmission time of the packet, and the scheduled transmission time, reflecting the time the packet should be scheduled to be transmitted, are calculated. A time stamp in the packet is adjusted to reflect the packet modified time and the packet is stored until either the packet modified time or the scheduled transmission time, when the packet is then transmitted.

摘要: The invention is particularly concerned with providing a drive mechanism to extrude product from containers. In order to reduce the amount of effort which manual operation would entail there is provided a gear wheel 23 meshing with the driven gear through high ratio gearing, the driven gear 25 being associated with a cam 27 about which is located a cam follower 32. The cam follower carries a plunger arranged to move to engage the container 10 and discharge product therefrom.

摘要: A compact, gas-fired water heater in which a reservoir of bulk water is indirectly heated by a gas burner-fired immersion tube and directly heated by mutual contact between the hot flue gases from the immersion tube outlet and feed water droplets as they pass each other in contra-flow through the apertures in a plurality of plates and through a packed bed of graded solid particles or Rashig rings. The packed bed may also include suitable chemicals for modifying the quality of the stored water. One or more calorifiers may be located in the reservoir with limited direct heat conduction contact with the immersion tube.
