    摘要: A function managing apparatus allows a user to avoid a fault likely to occur in a user terminal before a new function is installed on the user terminal. A function managing apparatus for communicating with a user terminal is provided. Specifically, the function managing apparatus includes a receiving unit, predicting unit, and alerting unit. The receiving unit receives from the user terminal the new function ID identifying the new function to be installed on the user terminal, and the installed function IDs identifying one or more functions previously installed on the user terminal. The predicting unit specifies the new function and one or more installed functions based on the new function ID and installed function IDs received by the receiving unit, and predicts the result when the new function is installed on the user terminal. The alerting unit notifies the user terminal of the prediction result of the predicting unit.

The server distributes the usage rule, the media content, and the execution program to the terminal. The terminal stores the distributed usage rule, media content, and execution program. The terminal executes the stored execution program and processes the stored media content within the bounds of the usage rule as stored. The server may perform a billing process in accordance with the determined usage rule, or select and distribute a media content or an execution program in accordance with the processing ability of the terminal or a state of communications. Moreover, the server may distribute, in addition to the execution program, middleware for constructing an operating environment for the execution program.

    摘要: A video processing apparatus acquires audio-visual environment information that indicates an audio-visual environment of a viewer that views video. The audio-visual environment information includes information of a display size of the video that is being viewed, information of brightness around a display apparatus that displays the video, and information of a distance between the viewer and the display apparatus. The video processing apparatus corrects, depending on information indicated by the audio-visual environment information, a basic reduction amount to reduce a quantity of motion of the video that is being played back, and processes the video with use of a corrected reduction amount. In the case where the display size is large, in the case where it is dark around, or in the case where the distance from the viewer to the display apparatus is short, the reduction amount to reduce a motion is set to be large.
