Abstract: Compositions and methods relating to cementitious compositions are provided. The addition of an amidoamine that is the reaction product of polyalkylenepolyamines and short-chain alkanedioic acids or reactive derivatives thereof to cementitious compositions has been found useful in inhibiting the corrosion of ferrous metal articles in contact with said composition. The amidoamine is advantageously employed in combination with a hydrophobe compound that enhances corrosion inhibition. The invention also provides aqueous emulsions which contain the amidoamine, one or more hydrophobes, and an emulsifier for the hydrophobe.

Abstract: Antistatic agents and their use in processing textiles or formed plastic substrates. The antistatic agent comprises a compound having a fluorocarbon moiety and an ethoxylated quaternary ammonium moiety. The antistatic composition increases the electrolytic conductivity of treated textile or plastic materials, thereby increasing the rate of electrostatic charge dissipation thereof. The antistatic agents remain effective after exposure of the treated substrate to an aqueous environment.

Abstract: A series of water-dispersible corrosion inhibiting solutions and a method of using these solutions are disclosed which contain a thiol ester represented by the formula ##STR1## wherein R is an alkyl group having about 8 to about 22 carbon atoms, or an alkyl or alkylaryl group that is the nucleus of a dimerized fatty acid having about 28 to about 36 carbon atoms, X is a dithiol having about 1 to about 5 carbon atoms, m=0 where R has about 8 to about 22 carbon atoms, m=0 or 1 where R has about 28 to about 36 carbon atom. It has been discovered that the use of these thiol esters along or the addition of the thiol esters to organic inhibitor systems reduces corrosion.
